For sale is this perfect 1967 Corvette with the desirable 427/435 horsepower engine!

This Corvette is perfect in every way! It has received a frame off restoration. This Vette is numbers matching and fully documented with tank sticker.

This Corvette is very rare in the fact that only 2 were made in this color combination of black and white. This vehicle is the only survivor of the 2!

It has received the honors of Bloomington Gold and NCRS certification and has only 7189 original miles!

This Corvette is for the true Corvette enthusiast looking for that special piece to add to the collection.

    Asking Price: $265,000

Note the month/year date from 2011 but this Corvette is said to be one of two black/white builds.
Another black/white build is the famous 1967 Corvette L71 model 427 435HP with optional aluminum heads. This Corvette received it's own option code number for 1967 - L89 to denote the optional aluminum cylinder heads. However this engine was still built with the tri-power carbs unlike the single 4 bbl carb featured on the higher performance 427 L88 aluminum head version. Note the chrome rocker covers featured on this L89 motor compared to the orange painted rocker covers on the 1967 L88 motors. This Corvette coupe was an early build supplied by Chevrolet Engineering. The black/white 1967 Corvette L89 coupe has never been seen since it's time at GM as a press car in March of 1967.

Maybe it is the camera angle, but that car looks a bit lower than normal. Did the last batch of L88s have C3-type wheels?

You have been looking at too many body off restored Corvettes that typically come out looking like some off road 4 X 4 vehicle! :)
Pretty normal for the Corvette original ride height back then plus the Corvette may have been photographed with a full tank of gas mostly before the test drive was done. This particular Corvette had the F41 suspension option. The front is a bit high but the aluminum heads remove 70 pounds of extra weight off the front end plus the spring rates are likely for the cast iron 435 heads. They only built sixteen Corvettes with the L89 option.
Not sure about any 1967 L88 having 7 inch wheels but I will ask...

This restored 1967 black Corvette roadster has the more typical big block stance of low in the front >

Especially if it was a "tanker" possibly equipped with the 36.5 gallon N03 option that would put about 230 pounds at the rear and coupled with 70 pounds missing up front from the aluminum heads that could give the car that "ready for lift off" look.

Looks like they went directly to 8" wheels starting in 1969. Maybe a 7" never existed before then.

Wow, I thought it was an early car option. Nice though.
Do you guys remember Mike from B+R he had a black coupe 427/435 coupe with original bias tires, when he sold it for a 120 grand 20 years ago we thought he hit the lottery

There appears to be a typo error in the 1968 specs as the Corvette used 7 inch wheels for the first year of the Mako Shark style 1968 body.

Don't recall that black 1967 but there was a 1965 Corvette 396 425HP coupe built June 2nd of that year. Black with a black vinyl interior and the 36 gallon tank. It was also the first documented Corvette to be built with the M22 'rock-crusher' transmission.

Baldwin Chevrolet tried to order a 1967 L88 Corvette for a customer but were refused by Chevrolet. The customer then ordered an L71 435HP coupe in silver with the radio delete option. He went to the parts department and got an L88 motor over the counter and had it installed in his 1967 Corvette.
