a 575 over a 360 or vice versa. My only frame of reference is a Porsche 993. I like the responsiveness and that it's a little primitive. How sterile is the 575 ride?
    I found the "perfect" 03' 575M, but not a 360/430. Help?

    550/575 is a completely differnt animal vs a 360.

550/575 is heavier so more of a grand touring car. as far as usability, 550/575 have much more usable trunk / luggage space than a 360. if you plan to weekend in the car with a partner... 550/575 is much easier.

360 is a true sports car. more suited to tight twisty roads.

engine sound is much different on a 360 vs 550.

very different cars. there will be no shortage of people who favor each. personal decision. you have to decide.

I agree. If you're looking for a daily driver I would go with the 575. If you want something a little more fun in the twisties I would go with the 360.

I'm near some nice twisty backroads so the tossable 360 is quite suitable for that. It's also very good as a near-daily driver. The F1 system cope with traffic just fine. Very comfortable even for long trips. Put the golf bags behind the seats, luggage in the trunk and you're set for a nice weekend.

I owned 2 360's, a 575, and now a 430 coupe. I could not agree more with the answers you were given. Good luck.

Are people saying the 360 is not capable of being a daily driver? I currently average about 1000 miles a month in my 2005 997S.

Gotta 360 F1 that I drive practically every day. Highway, city. Doesn't matter. Love it. I find it easier to drive than my 996 turbo. Go for the 360!

Even if I could, I wouldn't want to drive my 360 every day. As a weekend car, it feels so special, like I'm about to go on my favorite ride at the amusement park. I want to keep it clean ... spotless ... put it on a pedestal, not put it to work.

A standard Porsche seems more like an appliance.

Please post a picture with 2 golf bags in the 360. Can´t happen imo, not if you are normal height anyway. This is the biggest problem with exotics imo. Only Porsches allows for 2 persons with weekend luggage + 2 golf bags.

the 550 is just as good on the twisties as a 360, the car handles great for such a large car... great well rounded driver...

Chris, you are so close to Algar (they have a 575, 430 & 360 on the floor), you should drive down and test drive each car.

Recall that you are asking this question in the 360/430 forum so prepare for bias. As I recall this was asked on the 550/575/456 board semi-recently and it was over-whelmingly in favor of the 12. So just something to keep in mind. I'd say drive both and then see how you feel.

One drawback is the extremely long warm up time in the 360. It takes about 15-20 minutes of gentle driving before the oil reaches operating temp and the suspension limbers up. Until then, you really can't enjoy the car without worrying about harming the engine.

Besides, if you eat lobster every day, it soon loses its special appeal. :)

If you happen to live in a typical metropolitan setting with routine congestion, it doesn't make a lot of sense to daily drive a semi-exotic like a 360 or even a 997S. Get a cheap fun car like a Mini for the mundane stuff and save the really fun car for the quality driving times of weekends and evenings!

I agree with this - I own a Mini and am hoping to buy a Ferrari (prob. 355, possibly a 360CS if I can get decent finance rates and my girlfriend will stop blowing all my money on shoes!) and also move to London in the near future. I'm even looking into out of town garaging so I can just get the tube to the Ferrari, then drop it back at the garage and go back into Central London by tube.

A 550/575/612 is a much more comfortable ride than the mid engined V8 cars...........

Props on coming through with the golf bag pics. It must be fun to pull up at the golf course in the fcar.

It's great fun for everyone. I get to enjoy the driving and the golf. The 360 get the caddies smiling and, for them, it beats unloading SUV's all day.

Ferrari got it right when they designed the 360. Performance and practicality in one nice looking package. So given what it has (a large, deep trunk in front and good space behind the seats), why not use it to the fullest?
