I was looking around for a new humidor and thought what the heck... I will look for a Ferrari Humidor. I came across this. Does anyone know of a Ferrari humidor?

Michael Stuart Design Ltd. -- Ferrari Humidor

    Veneer: Acrylic paint over mahogany frame; Interior: Spanish cedar; Capacity: 250 cigars; Humidification: Elie Bleu System (three units); Details: Chrome fixtures, trays, dividers, analog hygrometer; Cost: $6,999 (exact price depends on custom specifications); Contact: [email protected];

This bold muscle car of a humidor is impossible to ignore. It has a shimmering coat of fire-engine red paint, accented with heavy metal chrome fixtures reminiscent of its namesake sports car, and is finished with a crown of pointed cap nuts. It can hold 250 cigars, making it one of the largest humidors in this test. A gearhead may fall madly in love with this custom-made piece by Michael Stuart Barber, but he would have his heart broken if he didn't watch it carefully. The performance of this large humidor did not live up to the standard set by the company's Harley-Davidson model, which was rated B+ in the 1999 humidor review. Although a novel idea with admirable style, the Ferrari humidor seemed thrown together. Fixtures were loose, a screw was missing (which could have been missing from the start or have fallen out during testing) and the thin sheet of cedar on the inside of the lid was separating by the end of the test. The humidity level was unpredictable, fluctuating greatly in the first couple of weeks, then rising to the mid-70s by the end of the test. The interior aroma is suspect, with an overpowering cedar smell. It is custom made and priced accordingly, but hardly seems worth the amount.

Hard for me to see someone spending that much money, but if you are strupid rich and do not care about money and want it... guess it is fine. Best value IMO is the ones offered from http://www.avallohumidors.com . Look at he VERY impressive humidification system, the quantity of cigars the unit holds, etc.

    Of course this is JMHO.

If you choose to spend $7k on a very small (under 300 cigars) humidor it should also include a cooling/heating system so as to maintain a 65F to 67F temp.

Second this! I was looking at a friends new Avallo the other night. It's a small cube(perfect for an end table) and was right at $1000. It's the nicest humidor for that price that I've seen.

    Thats Me...
In the late 90,s I decided to Combine my passion for F cars and Cuban cigars. I commissioned my wood shop to make me a few Humidors to my specs with my interior design....Ended up designing 2 patents and recieving these patents for Humidors at the same time.Even Licenced my interior humidor design to Cigar Savor industries...Cigar aficionado picked up on it and did editorials on My Harley Davidson Humidor and a few months later My Ferrari humidor...These are dedicated one off hand built patented pieces...weighing in at over 40 Lbs. each...I have my own Library of Humidors around 25 of them, Spanish and Automotive and Motorcycle themes. I have 3 units painted with Rosso corsa red laquer. Back then I had sold about 2 dozen units of various Themes....I will post some pics of these 3 shortly.
As for the Price....try to commission anything these days.
Problem is, I quit Cigars 2 years ago! Very taxing on Lungs.
Although I still enjoy a Romeo y Julieta at least twice a year..
Everything that is good is bad for ya..I miss that flavor!
The Harley davidson Humidor that they tested was built by me personally and ended up top of the heap.
The Ferrari Box I had commisioned did less well.
Remember these are really critical testers
I am not in this industry , it was a hobby of mine, thats all

Anybody know anything about Arawak Cigars? Jean Jarreau I think, suposed to be the most expensive cigars in the world.

Im just not sure. I can spend $50 on an OpusX and at the same time get as good (forgive me) a smoke with an V/ESG for a similar price. Hell, even a Punch is good now and then, and thats pocket change.

I just cant think of spending that much money on a stick just to say "its the most expensive in the world..."

Regarding the cigars...junk. Marketing and little else, in my opinion. As for the most expensive cigars? Hardly! LOL.

Vigilant makes a nice product. Personally I preferred the Pendergasts back before he sold the company.

They are actually more than that.

However I will post some shots tommorow...

IN reality the best by far, working Humidors are made by Tupperware...
Yes...a tupperware container holds Humidity far better than any wood box could ever....sweat it baby!

I can appreciate the design but it's definitely not my style -- too flashy/busy.
