    Hey Guys

This for the experienced paint "Gurus".....

Found a very small (almost didn't notice it, it was so very small 1-cm x 1-cm and not very deep), I almost was able to rub it our with wax, but not all the way.

My question is that is this a prelude for more to come, or could this be an isolated case, as I've not seen any others on the car.

Also, can paint stand 125-degree heat without direct sunlight, say in a garage. Would the paint suffer in that environment?

    Thanks Guys, Chris.

Depends on the cause of the crack, I had my old 328 all touched up when I must have had a rock in the tire come loose and hit the underside of the front fender, there is no liner on a 308/328 front fender so it caused a small star crack pushing outward in the paint

Its direct sunlight that destroys paint, so if the car were in a storage unit out ofthe sun even though its hot inside it should be okay, but other factors cam come into play for instance if the car was always in a humid wet climate things could begin to dry out, had that happen with a old Vette I had bought in Chicago but took to a desert climate all kinds of weird things began to happen with it

All my 1977s have been resprayed and that's usually the cause of the cracking, improper sealing between paint technologies..

Also common are stress cracks in the windshield area from flex during tracking......

    It's no big deal.

    Christopher,

If this is original lacquer paint it will eventually dry out and craze. If when you polish the car some of the paint comes off on the rag it is probably lacquer.

Heat and sunlight will dramatically affect the amound of crazing.

I would keep it covered for now and hope the process is slow.
