    No! Wrong again PSk

We were not online wasting our time posting because we were celebrating a Ferrari 1 - 2 !!!

This year we are online posting because we as a community show support for Scuderia Ferrari and we come together when our team is fighting so hard to keep this season alive.

If Ferrari do not challenge Renault, Renault would walk all over this season. So there would be no difference... just another team dominating from start to finish. I am afraid your research is flawed!

My friends always feel bad for me after each race this season and are surprised to find me happy. As much as I love Ferrari, they haven't quite grasped that my love for F1 and good racing is greater. And 7 titles are enough.

    Go Alonso!

PS: Everybody I talk to finds this season a lot more exiting and the Imola GP one of the all time best.

    Interesting question.

I remember the (2nd?) season Renault came out with the improved turbo in the eighties and Jabouille and Arnoux won the season opening races and were destined to dominate the year and win the title. And then it all folded.

Renault this year is certainly on better feet, but domination? I doubt it. I think the field is very close together and at least three other teams have a shot at the podium and victories.

...as of Imola, I hope the trend continues to improve. All I want is close racing between several teams, and a proper title defense by the SF... may the best team and driver win.

I know the result and that looks like domination, but you have to look at the races: Schumacher and Rubens driving away from P1 and P2 into the distance to lap the entire field and end the race in P1 and P2, that is domination.

Alonso hanging on by a thread against Schumacher 0.3 sec behind (where he probably wouldn't have been, had he not made an error in Q2), that is not domination. Especially not after the actual race leader dropped out.

Renault looks great right now, but their streak will end.

I am with you Tifosi. I think this season promises a lot, and that Renualt will not be on top so easily any more. Posibly next race we will se Renault and Ferrari fighting for the podium, and if Mercedes steps up to the task and could give their drivers a reliable car posibly Mercedes too.

I am not so sure about Toyota, I think they still have quite some work to do.

I think Alonso can give us some interesting race competition against MS, RB, and Kimi this season. However I think Giancarlo is a total fiasco and that he is the weak link in that team, plus the concerns on engine reliability if they are to keep it for two races fighting for the podium. Not all circuits are like Imola.

I am pro Alonso, and I hope he wins again and again, F1 fans in Spain has multiplied by 100 since he is in the F1. We can acvtually watch F1 in Spain just because that fenomenon. I think this kid and the competition of Renault is the thing that has spiced it enough to make it interesting again.

    - Julio.

I'm perplexed at Fisico's results or the lack thereof. I hope his struggle is just temporary.

I also wonder where will the Bridgestones be once we have really hot races again in the mid season GPs in Hockenheim and Hungary. The tire issue was gone for the April temps in Imola, but that ghost might come back to haunt the scuderia.

There were days last year that MS and RB drove away. There were also days that you were convinced they would be beat until somehow they managed to pull the rabbit out of the hat late in the race, Montreal and Indy for example. Putting spin aside for a moment, so far Renault is looking no different than Ferrari did last year. To quote Mr. Wolf from Pulp Fiction, "Let's not such each other's d!cks just yet...."

All we can do is hope that Imola is the beginning of a new trend, but I'd caution that just as easliy the other team's apparent pace in Imola was just a result of Renault cutting their revs to improve reliability.

    Are you saying he's a Fisi-asco?

I think he's just having a bit of bad luck. I also think he's a match for Alonso. Don't forget the guy won the first race this season as easily as Alonso’s won the others.

    LOL about the Fisiasco.

Actually I don't think he is a match for Alonso. He won the first race because Alonso got caught out in the rain in Q1.

Fisico needs to get his act together to snatch away points from the competition and to help in the constructor's title. Renault currently only looks so good in that, because the other teams strugled as well to get two cars home (e.g. Mc Laren and Ferrari) in the same race.

I know, i just felt like being funny. :)

On a serious note, I feel this year is the year to watch Renault, Ferrari and Mclaran. The 'best of the rest' definitely falls to Toyota, BAR, RB, and Williams.

Sad thing Minardi performed so pitifully, I was really happy when they brought out a new car with similar sentiments falling on Sauber.

I think the team to watch is Mclaren. The whole deal with MS and Alonso At Imola should have been for second if Kimi's car would have held up They look pretty good and once JPM gets his thumb outta his butt they will be strong. Renault and Alonso are looking really good as well, they are winning races they probably shouldn't be winning and are gonna be hard to beat this year. Sometimes when things are going your way and you get that momentum that's all it takes and that seems to be happening to Alonso this year.
