About two-three years ago I saw a Queen Mother Ferrari that had had a huge nose grafted on with 250GTO type half scoops and oval grille. The owner had died but since he was a Ferrari mechanic (for the Mardikian brothers who one time had a place on PCH ) I believe he probably saved the best of the 20-odd V12 engines he had salted away earlier for his own car . (The extra engines were sold before he died). I understand someone wanted to buy the car but then lost interest when they found out it wasn't a factory custom. Still it might be available, worth running an ad for in the local paper I should think. The owner was in Torrance or Hawthorne CA, about 5 miles from the LAX airport.

I think that thing was for sale a year or so ago up here in Oregon. There was a thread on it here.

    Car sold to the midwest

Modified 365GT2+2 had been owned by Pete Civati and sold upon his death by Robert Muis (oregon address) agent for owner's family. He also sold the 30-40 some odd motorcycles at the Hawthorne address. 190th street I believe.

Car sold to IChicago area , I sold the man a rear bumper for that car

The chassis number did not match the engine number FYI

I am the person who purchased this 365GT with the restyled body. The car had sat unused for 19 years. We have gone through the car mechanically and have the car in very good runnning and driving order. The engine compartment has been detailed, carbs rebuilt, new hoses & belts, alternator reman., new A/C compressor, radiator re-cored, oil cooler replaced, new tie-rod ends, wheels restored, new tires, some cosmetic enhancements. I have acquired all parts that would be required to put the car to original appearance though; it is actually much fun to drive in current configuration. I feel that the body re-styling was inspired by a 330 LMB. I own several vintage Maseratis, this is my token Ferrari. Bob Lederer [email protected]

Oh dear. Well, Bob, glad you're enjoying it. But please tell me you've at least taken off the Scuderia shields at the back. Two on each side is just trying too hard... Then again, a lot about this car is trying too hard. Would be nice to see her restored to her old glorious self.
