I am not sure why but I like the bottom side of things: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
This picture is several months old. I no longer have that Maybach 57. I traded it in on a 57S but it will not be here for another month or more. This new car will be unique but I will not spill the beans as yet.
My wife has a Bentley GTC coming in about 3 months to add to her stable, the Murcielago is hers. Here are a few more of my favorites: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
If you don't mind me asking, which is the preference of car: Murci or Enzo? BTW, congrats on 1000 posts!
'Did not notice I was using up so much space. Oh well. The Murcie is a daily driver with radio and a relatively quiet environment. The Enzo is a race car. It has no noise insulation, no cup holder, no radio and you have to pay 100 percent attention while driving. You have to be in a driving mode. That is me most of the time anyway so no problem but my wife is not particularly fond of the Enzo. It is too raw for her. aehaas
The Murci looks great in yellow. That look is really growing on me. I could see me going that route if I don't make the leap to electric (e.g. wrightspeed X1 or Tesla Roaster) next. Good repair work on the Enzo, by the way. Also, kudos for keeping a clean garage. Mine is not so tidy.
interesting to see the different hues of yellow used by ferrari vs. lamborghini you're a lucky man if you have a wife that appreciates italian exotics.
Very freak'n nice. Looking at the picture of the Enzo, how do you keep the inside of the wheels and other mechanicals so clean? I know the engine is covered and I know Florida has some nice elements but I am curious what you do (specifically) to keep the mechanicals so clean? -F
How long has it been since you had the 57? On March 9th I saw a 57, same color combo leaving Gainesville. Seeing yours and that you are in Florida makes me think it could have been you. Thanks for sharing the pictures!
Beautiful, for something never really seen. Great addition (the lift) to be able to appreciate the hidden details of rolling art.
Enzo.... Ford Explorer... Maybach 57......Lambo Murcielago this would make a great "what does not belong here" SAT question Beautiful stable, enjoy
I devised a 5 point system to hold the rear deck up evenly. This takes away the hugh bending forces with just the center post to hold up the deck. I figured out that you can easily remove the rear screen to get to the transmission oil level and filler hole. The manual says to remove the rear bumper to check the level or change the fluid. I am running 75W-85 transmission fluid now instead of the thicker Shell Transaxle 75W-90 stuff. The engine compartment has no forced air through it. It is basically a closed box. All cooling is from the transmission, oil and coolant radiators, not from surface air flow. This is why the engine compartment stays clean. Hello Doc, You have been busy as always and thank you for the great pictures of your Scuderia, and the updates on your new vehicles. Will be awaiting your descriptions of the Maybach 57S and Mrs. Haas' Bentley GTC, which I hear is a great elegant car for everyday driving. What colors have you decided on, for the new cars? Any new revelations with the 0-30 German Castrol and use of the other lighter weight oils in your cars? Your re-engineered system for holding the rear deck of the ENZO open, seems well thought out, are those high performance wooden broomsticks or carbon fiber broomsticks, or some pcv pipe, making the approved for use list? Please give my regards to Mrs. Haas, as she looks marvelous as always. In her picture with the ENZO, she looks as though she may be cross and on the "muscle", waiting for you to return her Murcielago, as she is "stuck", with the ENZO! Best Regards and Wishes, Ciao...Paolo
'Several things here. The use of lightweight oils has so far shown that wear is less for my application, more results are pending and will be published in time. The lift "system" for the Enzo rear deck is "high tech" left over wood with felt ends and notches to fit the rest points and stay put. The story of the wife in the pictures is interesting. She was in fact having a bad hair day when I decided she had to stand by the Enzo but my favorite picture was when I had her stand by the Murcielago in her yellow, giallo, leather jacket. We were on the way to work that morning. She was in no mood to pose. She was very upset as we were already late for work. I told her she had to stand by her car and smile or that we were not moving. She was then even more upset. Never-the-less she smiled for a split second and I took the shot. It looks great but I always remember the miserable look just before. It was a classic Kodak moment. aehaas Image Unavailable, Please Login
