What does Force India finishing in the points at SPA mean now? All the talk about receiving pay out money? Explain.

The Force India team that was is now defunct and gone, and so will not receive any prize money at the end of the season.

There is now a new team that has essentially bought the assets of Force India and been allowed to race in their place. However that team will only earn points on a go forward basis starting with their first race at Spa.

Sahara Force India is gone and will receive no money at the end of he season.
Racing Point Force India is reborn and has only the point scored in Spa so far, and will receive money at the end of the season.

The drivers get to keep their points.

All the teams voted and agreed that the new team will get to keep the old teams prize money from previous seasons (FOM can take up to 2 years to give out prize money, thanks Bernie). As others point out for this years prize money only the new teams points count.

Force India is still in the name because of sponsor obligations but expect a brand new name next year like Papa Smurf Racing or something o_O

Starting from scratchat Spa, it will be interesting to see how many points Point Racing will gather before end of season.
My guess is that they will be ahead of McLaren, Williams, maybe Toro Rosso or even Sauber.
