Thanks for the great information. My dealer principal did not tell me about this piece of information. Supposedly he sits on the owners committee (or board).

What does Ford consider are the performance criteria and will we know in the near future which dealers will get these automatic allocations (i.e., will Ford release this information)?...How do I find out if my dealer is part of this "very small group of dealers" that will get the automatic allocation?... and also what is the S&S agrrement if I may ask?

 

Bob, I'm not sure why you are lashing out at Ford for taking a page out of Ferrari's playbook. A less than average Joe like myself cannot order a new Ferrari either despite my ability to afford one.

I'm sure 8-10 of the unwashed masses with the most creative pro-Ford advertising will get one just so Ford can publicize it, but as you say the bulk of the lucky few were identified long ago.

My application and requisite <dorky> video has been submitted. We'll see if we fall in the 3.8% selection group!

Would be nice if they're able to stick with their 90 day notification window. I understand other countries had later due dates so it may be 90 days from their closing date.

Anyway, I'm sure a few on here will be selected. Lord knows we successfully learned and navigated the Ferrari process.

 

My video was 60 seconds of pleading. I may have cried during it too. I hope I get one, desperately.

My "lashing out" at Ford has to do with this silly "send us a youtube clip" of why you want one. Low class PR stunt that is embarrassing to potential applicants. Really? This is how they decide you are worthy to get one? Are we buying car or trying to get on a Reality TV show?

The only purpose was to get people to say how much they love Ford products. These people were never going to get a car.

And, if Ferrari asked potential Speciale owners to do it I would be just as vocal about it. Luckily it hasn't come down to that-- yet!

 

Well, even if you hate the idea, it's a small price to pay for what will be probably a $500K ROI and an awesome car. I did not make a video, nor did many others. It was optional.

Wouldn't you rather Ferrari let you make a video and maybe you get a free $2-3M in asset value rather than just know from the beginning that you'll never even be considered for one of their special cars?

If anyone wants to give me a 1% chance of buying their LF at MSRP, PM me. We'll throw 100 number in a hat after I make a 60s video, and then see if my number is drawn. If it is, I'll cut you a check for $1.5M and pick up the car next Wed.

 

the process for the application was seriously broken when first released. it looked like they fixed it a few days later. i don't actually expect they allocate me one, but if they did, i would take it.

there have beena lot of comments on the video bit. this also threw me for a bit of a loop; i don't usually make many videos. so, i posted a video of me racing about in a 458 challenge. lol?
