no airbags? looks like the passenger compartment is in good shape, did anyone get hurt? any details or just bringing pictures? I've definitely not seen these before.
The date stamp on the pics is last week so I thought they were new here. I don't know any details, just saw them and thought it was worth passing along. From the look of things I would guess it hit a trash can and then the light/power pole. I would also guess that the airbags didn't go off because it was a side impact not head on.
Sad to see the crash, but on a brighter note, maybe the value of the remainders will go up .001% . . . . . . . . . . . . . . then again, maybe not
ooh I am gonna get soo much pleasure outta doing this to a mod... REPOST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=91687&highlight=ford+gt
In the 3rd pic is there tape or something over the windshield? Or is the glass just shaped like that? For some reason I find it fascinating that the glass didnt' shatter but just reshaped like that....
Dang it...... I searched the off topic sections but the only regional forum I looked in was Australia.
I think it's the one behind the car, those wooden poles don't give at all, which is why they get replaced with something that is a bit kinder to cars and occupants. The accident happened last week , car had only been in the country since November. That road is notorious for accidents and I'm told from the skidmarks that it appear he went a little too fast around the 90 degreee left bend that's just before the crash site, the rear got a little light, overcorrected and hit the pole. Apparently the driver only sustained minor injuries and there was no passenger.
Maybe I'm missing what you're seeing... but what I see is laminated safety glass, and it is shattered. It's just held together by the plastic layer that's laminated into the glass to keep all the little pieces together when the glass breaks... Sidewindows don't have it, but windshields, in the US anyway, are all like that.
Isnt it cool how in NZ, when a supercar crashes it makes the news First a Ferrari left the road and landed in the harbour, and this made the paper, then the murci that crashed was on TV, and now this also made the News.
