Just drove a new ford gt. It is a very impressive car. I was surprised at how well the "whole package" felt. It's not just a bullet train but also has great steering and responds well to any imput. Light throttle response isn't quite as good as my 430 but mid and higher is no mistaking that american torque. Has anyone else got any thoughts about this car.

That car is a beast right out of the box, buddy of mine just got a new pulley and ecu for his. Let me tell you there are not many cars that can keep up with it now. Ford really did a nice job with the car and they are not making any more so that would help the exclusivity.

have driven a friend's Ford GT and driven the Gotham Dream Cars Ford GT with nascar exhaust. IMO it is phenomenal, an absolute beast. I am nuts about Ferraris but HANDS DOWN I would take a Ford GT from a driving perspective. It is a real treat to drive and I hope to own one in the future. F430 is fantastic, but V8 Ferraris will come and go an 2009 we will have a new one. This Ford GT I could drive for the next 20 years and never get sick of.

GDC ford GT is loud as balls. got to ride in it, it's an absolute beast! a very raw vehicle, with a lot of road presence. my only complaint about it really is that it has the same remote as all other ford vehicles.

i have yet to be in a 430.

I just sold an 06 ford Gt that I owned for 4 months. I upgraded the ecu and exhaust which did bump up the power.
Complaints: gears to long for fun city driving, suspension felt to soft for me, even with borla exhaust is to quiet, the name Fordgt everyone thinks it is a mustang, overall fit and finish not as good as Ferrari and having to go to a Ford dealer with no exotic experience.
Positives: traction and torque is phenomial, Unique look that does not ever get old, Looks great on the road, numerous upgrades you can do to make more power and end of production is this month.

My bottom line is it is a neat car but I just purchased a new 6spd 430. To me the ferrari is more fun to drive, it feels much lighter and quicker than the GT. The GT is faster but that does not mean it is more fun, maybe at a dragstrip though. Also future resale on the 430 is a given but the Gt is a big question mark? Just my 2 cents, from a city/canyon/track driver.

I have seen a Ford GT with the ECU mod, supercharger snout swap & throttle body upgrade (approx $5000 total upgrades) run 10.80's in the 1/4 mile @ nearly 140MPH.

    That is really impressive.

As of know I have a GT with 640 RWHP and is like a rocket ship. The car is also lowered and has some other things done to it. Handles very well. My F430 coupe will be here in sept so then I can drive them both to give the best side by side. But wont be far since the Ferrari will only have test pipes and exhaust after I get it. For me the Ferrari is more show and the GT is more go.

The pics of the car was before it was lowered. Just got it back today from the shop.

The GT has gobs of performance, but the 430 is the more polished, complete package.

I must say I love the GT, but it can not even come close to the sound of the ferrari. Once you do exhaust and test pipes it is crazy.

Thanks, I will try to take more pics this weekend. Going to Monterey tommorow with a 360 Stradale, 997 Turbo, and Z06. My buddy with the stradale always has a video camera. Will try to take some pics and video on the way up to monterey.

The GT will be a collector's item, and as such will always have a high resale value, because there are not going to be any more of them.

It has been my dream car since the '66 GT-40's, but Ford didn't go with paddle shifting like the F1, and my wife will not drive stick. I bought the F1 so that she could also enjoy driving it. That is my only gripe about the GT.

I love the GT but I HATE the doors. I think that's the one detail that should've been left with the originals. A couple months ago I was riding with my girlfriend's dad to lunch in his GT and we parked in a crowded parking lot. Thanks to the unique doors, neither one of us could get out! We had to park about a block down. If I buy a GT, this is the first mod I'm doing to it, damn the naysayers and purists...

The GT and F430 are 2 completely different cars. If your going to only drive the car for a few years buy the F430 if your going to keep the car for many years buy the GT. In 2009 the new F460/500 comes out and the F430 is old news, where as the Ford GT will still be the best looking car on the road 20 years from now. The GT is very docile in traffic and the seats are very comfortable. Raw power goes to the GT, better fit and finish goes to the F430. You can get the F1 in the Ferrari only a manual in the GT. Exhaust noise stock goes to the Ferrari. Keep in mind that Ford came up with the GT start to finish in 18 Months, while Ferrari has been building Exotics for decades. The GT stops production this month with only 4000 made end of story there will never be another GT. The GT is one of the best Muscle/Exotic cars I've ever owned. The way the doors open are part of the character of the car just like the original 60's GT's I like them. The general public likes the GT better than the F430 only because it says "Ford"(which most people relate too) on the side. You can't go wrong with either car or just buy both.

yea doors are great just dont flip over. I have to assume the weight sitting on that top part would be enough that you could not open the door its like the Murci's doors scissor doors like cool but asking to get burned alive inside unless you have a hammer handy.

The Ford GT40 is from times where sports cars were rough and rugged. I think Ford wanted to incorporate this in there design. We are talking about a sports car here who cares how much trunk storage it has. If you can afford either of these cars you will most likely not travel in it, it will just be a weekend summer days car. If I want refinement, a nice ride, and space for my bags yet speed Ill buy a CTS-V if I want a sports car ill buy a FGT

Man... Those wheels look awesome!! Best looking GT i've ever seen. I'd take this over a 430 any day.

    Please post pics after lowering.
