Hey guys, This summer Im coming down to Winston Salem to visit my cousins who live their. We are going to take a trip to Foreign Cars Italia, and I was wondering is their anyone I should ask for, or what? Also, what other places should I visit with my cousin to get him a full experience of exotics that are in the area? He is just getting into the car thing, and I want to introduce him to all the stuff in his area. Thanks, David
I'm in Winston Salem -- and a big Duke & Wake fan. Give me a shout and I'd be happy to go for a spin with you in my 348. I'd recommend going to Sport Auto in Summerfield www.sportauto.cc (25 minutes northeast of Winston Salem) also. Plenty of lambos, and some beautiful fcars too. -Daniel
Sweet! I was born on the hospital on campus, so Im a natural-born Dukie. I would love to see your 348, how can I reach you? Sport Auto sounds good also, thanks for the advice. David
F1 Imports is also very near FCI though last time I was there they only had 1 Ferrari. They did have an AC Cobra though and a Ford T-Bucket. Sport Auto and FCI are both great dealerships. Very willing to let me come in and photograph their inventory.
Go to SportAuto. Foreign Cars sometimes has good cars, but the way they treated my father after many years of good business is unacceptable. Also there are rumors that Foreign Cars is clogging up the 360 delivery lists with people that order the cars, then sell them to the dealership quickly so the dealership can sell them over MSRP for a boatload of money. SportAuto is run by the man who used to own Foreign Cars Italia.
I will flat out, no ifs, ands, or but's deal with Foreign Car Italia. End of story. They were extremely rude to me and, later on, rude to friends of mine. They are undeserving of my recommendations for anything other than a good parts guy. Maybe a bathroom stop. Go to Sport Auto, unless of course you just like being ignored.
Are you guys saying that if I wanted to go in and look at the cars at FCI, I would be mistreated, or asked to leave? Im not really going there for service, but should I be careful? Does anyone know what cars either of these places has right now, anything special? Thanks, David
I was just at FCI last Wednesday...I have never been mistreated nor ignored there. In fact, I was treated extremely well when I was merely representing a potential buyer. They had a couple TDF Blue 360 Spiders in the showroom plus a 348 Spider, a Testarossa, and an F50 in the corner. Also an Aston Martin DB-AR1. Around back I do not know as the girl I was meeting there showed up a little early and seeing her was a little more imporatant if ya know what I mean.
The system is not letting me edit my post so... Just a few pics from my latest trip to FCI... http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4286522477
I doubt it. I was only mistreated when I wanted them to SELL me a car. Thusly, FoA and SA get all my business.
Thanks guys, FCI sounds like they have a good selection of cars there, and can you go around back? Do they have more cars out there? The F50 sounds sweet, hope its still there when I get down there. Thanks, David
Coming down on Wednesday, is the F50 still at FCI, and what is at Sportauto? Any events that are between July 7th and 28th that I should attend? Thanks, David Edit: Just checked out the Sportauto site and it says they have an F40 in their inventory. True? If so can you see it? Thanks
I was there Saturday dropping off my car to have the carbs adjusted and an annoying steering squeal looked after. Did not see an F-50, but I didn't get the full tour due to a) just in for service, not to buy and b) an 8 year-old and 14 year-old in tow. Mark (sales) was VERY nice and accommodating and even let the boys come back into the service area to check out the cars in there (a '67 275 GTB in there being restored - NICE!!!) and into the lower showroom. My wife got the hots for a 360 Spyder - so I have the green light - just need the $200k now. All in all, I was happy with my treatment. I think you have to sincere and treat the people there the way you would want to be treated. They'll give you some respect for that. My only complaint - the outside lot was littered with P-cars and a few Vettes.
Hey guys, Just got down to Winston and on the way in I visited FCI. They had a good selection of fcars, and a lot of nice Porsches and Maseratis. I was dissapointed that the F-50 was not still there, the sales guy said they had sold it. I was wondering, can you get back into the back to see all the cars down there, or not? Looked like they had a lot of nice stuff down there, I think they had a 288 GTO along with some 360s and a 550. Will probably visit Sportauto tomorrow, Ferrarioldman, do you work there? Do you think you could show us stuff there if you have something cool in the back?? Thanks a ton, David
I was at FCI yesterday, and the F-50 was gone. The salesman was very pleasant and practically gave us a tour including a walk through the shop and out back. I explained I was only there to see the parts dept and give my friend a ride to the glass shop ( new windshield for his 328). I was entertained by a large number of 360's a few 550, 355's, TR and the 275 GTB with the engine out. Worth the trip in my opinion. Oh yeah, they have soome other cars too. Aston Martin special edition on the floor - $275K Hey tesseract, I saw your car. Very nice, did you make the conversion? I also saw a silver carb (not sure on the year) 308GTB, in the shop. Anyone know whose car that is?
This morning, my cousin and I went into Sportauto. They were really nice and let us look around for a while. They had 2 murcis, 2 diablos, a 355, 360, 308 and 2 348s along with a few porsches. Nice place. David
David , I must have missed you if you came by this morning. I was at the doctor's office. Bob Snow came in this afternoon though. We are having a F1 viewing there early Sunday morning at the shop and I believe a rally afterwards. Maybe we will get another chance to meet soon. Tom
Yea, Daniel Pass(black 348) told me about that. I asked a nice guy in the dealership about that and he said that me and my cousin should feel free to come by. Hope to meet you then. I will be the 16 yr old with my 18 yr old cousin looking kinda lost. Do you know who is coming to the viewing and what cars will be there? Thanks, David
Thats alright, I guess Ill see when I get there. I was wondering, the the guy who has the Enzo in Greensboro, does he come to Sportauto for repairs, etc.?? Because I would love to see it, up close. Thanks, David
