I was going through a box of "stuff" tonight (just not enough room to display everything, so unfortunately some has to stay boxed up and in the closet). I found this - I had forgotten I even had it. I think I bought it back when I first started collecting diecasts...haven't ever seen another one, though. Did I luck out and stumble on a "needle in a haystack" in my early days, or is it fairly run o' the mill?

I have only seen that in one place, at a die cast collectors show. They wanted about $10 or so for it. So maybe not rare, but it is rather hard to find these days.

If the daytona had been red or yellow, I would have bought it. Which is funny because I much prefer non-red Ferraris in 1:18, but that one looked kind of funny with the blue metallic.

Oh, and the other thing that drives me crazy i that the Phil Hill156 Sharknose in that same series is a flat metalic red (mirror finish with a red tint?)

Here's some pictures of the rest of the Ferraris in that series (that I am aware of). Pictures blatantly stolen from Ebay.

*UGH*...that 333SP is HIDEOUS. Why in the hell did they pick *those* wheels?!?! Just terrible...they could've done so much better, and they HAVE, as I have a 333SP from HW in 1/64 with different wheels. There's just no excuse for that.

Seems like good stuff to give to a young child to play. I think I need to buy some sacrificial cars like these. Dont want some stupid mom to enter my office and take a Kyosho 328 to give to her little child to play with

Don't forget the 330P4 that came in that set... I passed on the set just because of those flames - hate 'em.

As for the 333SPs in the photostudy, thanks! Awesome... ANY of those wheels subbed onto the "HW Legends" car would've been better than the unfinished white plastic. It's almost as if they ran out of time/energy, so they just threw together some hodgepodge wheel/tire combo, slapped 'em on, and said, "Ship 'em!"

Terrible... Of the SPs in your picture, although all are quite nice in their own way, I do believe I prefer the wheels on the red car on the far end the best, followed by the ones on the black car.
