I like it....he's going to a sister team. Get more input from LeClerc and that 2019 Alfa-Sauber (with LeClerc driving of course) should be a mid-field contender on a regular basis.

It's great to see such a turn of fortune for Sauber who in recent years looked as hopeless as Williams does presently. I don't see Mercedes coming to the rescue.

Leaving the Scuderia to go to a Ferrari-assisted team cannot be seen as a promotion, IMO.

It's a strange career move, a bit like Paddy Lowe who left Mercedes to go to a Mercedes client team (Williams).

Maybe he wants to be the boss. Maybe the Swedish owners of Sauber made him an offer he couldn´t refuse. Or maybe Marchione is helping his "fake Alfa Romeo" team.

Resta is getting a much better deal since the Sauber team is embracing the funds for being a proper b team and is showing the results hugely. Compared to Lowe which has to deal with a bad team like Williams who's unwilling to try any better this year.

Italian engineers start to be on quite the high demand. Can’t be all as bad as some like to think after all. :)

Maybe his bank account will feel better, but I would have thought that being part of a winning team is more important when you are a technical director in F1. It goes on your CV. Compared to Ferrari, how many races has Sauber won recently, and how many is it going to win in future? For me, this is all important. Money isn't everything.
