Started racing F1 games on the N64 (yes with wheel ). My download is almost finished (yes I know, my internet is tragic). I hope my pc can take it...
Anyone else hitting the "invisible barriers" at Monaco? Crusing along, then BLAMO!!! 0mph. Sometimes have flown through the air a couple feet high. Quit hitting rewind altogether. Liuzzi won by never pitting.
Won my first race last night, third race and I decided to make it a long weekend. Qualified 17th because during the first session I put down an amazing lap and tried to advance to Q2, but instead advanced to Race lol. Running in the Lotus, I charged into turn 1 of Malaysia and advanced up to 11th, from there I worked the rest of my 17 laps to a victory. I guess it's time to change the difficulty from Medium to Hard.
I bet it's the framerate drop screwing things up, I swear I have hit every wall on that track, section 3 is almost undrivable.
Around 2000 I was developing tracks for GP3 and hung out in GP3 forums and discovered the insane race fans who as part of their signature posted their championships, wins etc. That's when I started to write them down. It is actually fun if you do it over the years and see where you're good at and where not. They say only the best win at Monaco. I have won pretty much everywhere but Monaco.
FINALLY got it. My computer can play it, but it's near impossible to play with a keyboard. Feels like there's a 1 second gap between letting of the 'accelerator' and the game actually reacting to it. Pissed off (downloaded for over 2 weeks :/)
Can't you play with the mouse? Also just finished Silverstone... Alguersuari from 20th won the race without pitting(I stopped using the replay all together). It was going to be a Ferrari 1-2 as well.
nah never been able to. I can play most other racing games with keyboard (Something I've had to learn now I still don't have my wheel :/). There's NO sense of speed in the game, making it impossible to play. Don't like it. I'll save it on my USB stick and delete if of my HD. Waste of time. :/ I'm sure it can be amazing, the idea is there...it looks fantastic (even on 800x600 and everything on low!), I like that you can over-rev the engine, the way the gravel stays on the tires for a bit if you've gone off...but just by the lack of sense of speed (no idea if you're going 30 or 300) it makes it impossible to play for me .
Give it more time. The first couple hours for me, I thought the game was awful. After a while, you will start to get a "feel", for what the car is doing. Give it a chance.
Stopped using the "replay"? What's that? BTW started on Pole at China, wiped out a few times, but managed to grab 1st back going into the sharp left, bank right that's just before the extremely long straight.
If you press the Back button while you're moving on track, you can "rewind" to an earlier point, then resume from there. If you made a mistake like spinning, or if near the end of a long race then make a mistake. . . Rewind seems to "cancel" any AI cars' intent to pit. I've quit using rewind, and am not noticing AI cars not pitting.
They seriously put that gimmick in? I hate that button on Forza why would I like it here lol. Oh well, I'll just not use it.
Really trying to break 1:11's in Canada. Stuck at 1:12.3xx lap after lap after lap. Got pole on legendary difficulty by 6 seconds though
I've been having an issue with my G25 on the PS3. It seems quite often ,it doesn't seem to sense that I'm braking fully and the car (automatic mode) will downshift too slowly and I'll end up off at a corner. I end up having to unplug and plug in the G25 again. I actually won Canada (it was ugly, but a win is a win) with the glitch before I realized what was causing it. Anyone else experience anything like this?
No issues, knock on wood, with my G27. So midway through my 2nd season, in which i was leading the championship by 80 points, my game save decided to corrupt...i'm very happy right now. Ugh.
It's from DIRT2. My point was that I don't use it any-more but the no pitting bug is still happened so it's not just related to using the replay feature. I thought my 1.15 in canada was fast... I guess not
Was looking good for a Ferrari 1-2(game achievement as well) then Alonso pitted a 2nd time with 2 laps to go(only a 20% race)!!
Christ even in F1 2000 (a 10 year old game!) the AI was better written. It surprises me a giant games developer, with a new apparent fix on racing games (rally, F1, race driver grid) manage to F up so many things that should have easily been noticed during testing.
SpeedCore do you have any advice on car setup for Hungary, Belgium, and Italy? I have a race on Thursday night with 9 gents and I'm a little behind in the points. race set at 20%. Weather will be clear for all three races. Thanks
Based on the tracks you need Max downforce in Hungary Medium downforce in Spa Minimum downforce in Monza
