Ferrari rolled the dice and came out smelling like roses this time. They previously did that at Silverstone and it worked out quite the other way. In a championship battle as close as this one should be, those types of decisions can really be the difference by the end of the season.

2 points for Ferrari so far....

I agree. They rolled the dice, and came out OK, but I wonder if they really intended to. It was lucky, but they could just as easily needed to pit for tires or had one blow up, and there goes the race.

There is always passing on the 1st lap. He passed Lewis because of a slip stream which started on the last corner... aka the same mechanic DRS uses. That's a poor example for a non-DRS pass argument. If it was later in the race he would of passed him cleanly using DRS.

Alonso was no where near Max. Look at the line the other cars are on and where Max is ;) Max was too aggressive in blocking Lewis or maybe his line into the corner forced him to go wide. Either way it ended up as a DNF. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Look at Max's onboard (30sec), he was almost on top of Alonso going into the turn..wheel to wheel with Hamilton...then overtaking Hamilton on the exit..no where to go but left(Alonso in front)...as Hamilton steers more right into Max clipping Max's rear tyre.....racing incident as two drivers "duking it out."

He was no where near Alonso going into the corner. The closest point to Alonso was at the apex of the corner because of his angle going into the corner.

Just saw interviews by Max and Lewis, Max said he probably didn't give enough room to Lewis but you know racing etc. Lewis said if that happens again they gonna have an accident again. Anthony Davidson said school boys being school boys :D

    Neither blamed Alonso.

no one did. Alonso made max going wider (which doesn't make a difference). Hamilton drove into Max anyways. That act didn't have link to Alonso, really. Hamilton should have conceded he lost out. He got away lucky this time and continue the race. Max had yet another DNF.

Red Bull boss Christian Horner has admitted there was no car or engine issue when Max Verstappen crashed in qualifying for last weekend's Bahrain Grand Prix.

After the Q1 accident Verstappen complained of a 150bhp power surge, prompting cynical responses from some of his F1 rivals.

Although some observers suggested there may have been a technical problem - possibly a sticking throttle - Horner insisted there were no mechanical issues, and the accident was actually triggered by Verstappen's foot jumping on the throttle pedal as he ran over the kerbs.

"It wasn't a stuck throttle," Horner told Autosport. "I think when he got high on the kerb there was an oscillation on the foot. It was fairly obvious.
