Where did Force India come from? Renault team looking good as well. This weekend McLaren has the goods over TR Honda. As the world turns . . . .
Not only are they still under powered, but unreliable as well. What a shame. A 3 way for the titles would've been great....
Wow Ferrari is crushing it. Bahrain was hot and high-stress on the rear, China is cold and high-stress on the front. Fast everywhere in any condition.
https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/mercedes-blames-tyre-woes-for-ferrari-deficit-1025982/ Now waiting for Pirelli to fix it...
The sun may fix it, or not. Tomorrow the track temp should be significantly higher than it was today. That will surely change things, but who will be better and who will be worse?
F1 ChineseGP Qualifying Best Sectors: - Kimi could've beaten Vettel who nailed it in the last lap - Grosjean by 0.32s slower in Q3 than in Q2 Image Unavailable, Please Login max speeds per sector and speed trap Image Unavailable, Please Login

Here we go....already....blaming the team. Hamilton calls Ferrari's consistently strong F1 form "very strange" and admits he was "shocked" by how his Mercedes handled on ChineseG qualifying day per Autosport.
What a surprise....not. He's an ungrateful turd. No different from his very early (pre-F1) days when he blamed everyone, no different 20 years later.
Where have all the "Lewis is GOAT" posters gone? And what happened to McLaren and Alonso? McLaren, the motorcar manufacturer that can't build its own engine and criticizes the real manufacturer engine suppliers, after all that incessant hype over the winter and having liberated themselves from the Honda anchor (according to them) were supposed to be fighting it out amongst the big boys. They've just exposed themselves as mid-field runners and the "highly regarded" Alonso is just barely outrunning his much less experienced teammate.
2017 vs 2018 Qualifying - Development of Max. speeds over the year: - McLaren makes biggest step on speed trap (+9.7kph) after switch to Renault power, followed by Ferrari (+5.8kph) - Williams 6.3kph slower than last year Image Unavailable, Please Login 2017 vs 2018 - HAAS gained 1.527s, Mclaren1.268s (1.15s in S3 with longest straight) - Mercedes only 1 tenth faster - Toro Rosso slightly slower with Honda engine, Williams over 0.5s Image Unavailable, Please Login
Are we watching the fall of the Fourth Reich? I suspect there were similar reactions in conference rooms in Germany 73 years ago...
Interesting qualy. Good for the red team. Glad to see Ricci made it out of the garage to be part of it. The so called- season of LH- is not going well! Bottas is more than able to keep pace lately and in general does better when the car enters Diva mode. Another tough pole lost for Kimi. I think Ferrari are going to do quite well! Can Bottas keep LH back over the course of the race? Will LH be pressured by others as well.
So Verstapen will be on Hamiltion's shoulder, on the clean line, with an axe to grind after last week's contretemps in Bahrain. Should be a fun first corner . . . I hope Kimi can get a better start than Bottas. I'm not holding my breath regarding that. Kimi seems to let down a bit on race day. Am I wrong about that??
I don't mind Max playing a bit of bowling, as long as he doesn't hit the reds! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Interesting look at today's results. Bottas says it is not all just the tyres. I think Ferrari are a just a bit quicker overall - http://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12474/11329969/where-has-mercedes-pace-gone
There are six cars running Renault power units...two running Honda PUs. Half of the Hondas did not finish the first race...the other one crossed the line dead last. Race two: with a fresh engine, Gasley impressed...his teammate, dead last. China qualifying: ALL Renault powered cars outperformed the Honda cars. McLaren might not be performing as well as they’d like to, but I can hardly see how they made a poor choice ditching Honda. Gasley’s fourth place has clouded a lot of judgement. Remember, Stroll stood on the podium last year. Strange things happen in individual races...not so much for entire seasons. Which will happen first: Honda power unit penalties? ...or a functional OTT video stream from Liberty? Fifty/fifty.
Lewis Hamilton: Ferrari's consistent F1 form 'very strange' - No LH its probably just a better car lol!! https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/135397/hamilton-ferrari-consistent-form-very-strange
This is priceless: McLaren wondering if they weren't ambitious enough with their car https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/mclaren-set-bar-too-low-with-2018-car-boullier-1026189/ But I just love this quote from Eric Boullier: the car's great but "...We just need to make the car faster around the corners and in a straight line...". With insight like that it is astonishing that they aren't three seconds a lap quicker than everyone else. Jonathan
The sector and speed trap data might indicate that Kimi has a bit more front wing downforce. That could be useful in the race.
