Ocon is supposed to be sponsored by Mercedes, just like Wehrlein was. There is a remote chance they could put him at Williams, when Stroll Jr moves out. Not an ideal situation.
What surprised me in this qualifs is that the Red Bulls haven't taken advantage of the rain to be nearer the front as I expected.
Ocon to Williams? Stroll will have to buy his way out of the Williams contract, so Ocon would be free and a huge step up for them if Stroll does leave.
FWIW: I just heard on Belgian television - from Gaëtan Vigneron (RTBF), whose source is a "close Spanish friend" - that Ocon was in Woking very recently for a "seat fitting" session.
Downforce! The mercedes was quicker on sector 2, which is full of chicanes and requires good downforce.. therefore on wet conditions they'll have the advantage
Ocon at McLaren? Poor chap, they are at the bottom of the pile ... Right now, I don't know what's worse: driving a Williams or a McLaren !!!!
Heating of tyres, a specific engine map which make the power come in very predictably, working together with the MGU H. The possibilities are endless. Toto said it himself after hungary. It's a bold claim from a team principal.
Constant Vettel bashing. Getting very tiresome. Go on the Mercedes forum you might prefer it there. As for Vettel starting his lap later and therefore ''should be faster'', could be any number of things, bit more rain could've come, track dried too much and the tyre becoming slower again.
Vettel has 4 titles, not by accident. Simple as that. His development is exceptional. A lot can happen in 30 seconds.
Not possible... we just learned from the specialists above that in the rain it has nothing to do with the car, only the drivers matter Gesendet von meinem SM-G930F mit Tapatalk
They also pitted early...didn't put a run in due to lack of fuel...strange for Red bull to mess up strategically!
How did you arrive at that conclusion? I'm just providing a factual argument to someone who has an extreme hatred for Vettel. Well done to Mercedes for having build a car/engine mode that works so well in the wet, nothing wrong with that.
Your posts are virulent, and your comments unrealistic, I must say. What's the point suggesting that Vettel should be replaced by Alonso or Hamilton ? Unless you have no idea how the drivers' market works, the availability, and the contracts that ties up drivers to team and vice versa, you wouldn't make such "childish" suggestions. Vettel is the best driver Ferrari can get hold now; he isn't faultless, but he is fast and steady, most of the time. That is the reality. All the other strong drivers are Under contract.
Stuff that needs to stop happening. The mistakes just continue to happen. How do you improperly fuel Kimi for Q3? Elementary stuff! Great job developing the car, but winning a WDC/WCC demands more. Stuff like the above video just needs to stop. I don’t know what happened, but it obviously wasn’t good.
