Vettel is all ''WE weren't fast enuf ...WE could have done better WE blah blah blah A bit more ''I'' might be appropriate now and then
They bring in the halo yet turn a blind eye to what is dangerous driving If he does that to Stroll next year i think we all know what would happen!
Sirotkin grabs the brass ring. I think Force India is dropping the wrong driver. When you see the Ocon collision from the back, it was pretty obvious Perez nerfed him into the wall. "Didn't see him?" Maybe. But after he rammed Sirotkin later, it was pretty obvious the Perez is doing gorilla driving. Once Max got around Seb in the pit rotation, Vettel just gave up. And there didn't seem to be all that much difference between the softs and ultras -- either in speed or duration. Ferrari still has lousy strategy -- especially on road courses.
Interesting that Ferrari only brought 1 set of Softs for each of VET and RAI. Don't know if they ran them at all before the race, but I wonder how much that affected the decision to try the Ultras for VET when everyone else (subsequently) went Softs?
It's not Ferrari's strategy to blame. Lewis is out driving Vettel, plain and simple. Strategy had nothing to do with Vettel locking up in Baku, crashing out in Germany, not getting on pole when it rains etc. The driver in the car has the ultimate strategy to get the result. Mercedes has had miss calls from the pit, tire issues and a big DNF do to reliability. But the DRIVER in the seat has found a way to get results
Learn from others rather than lead and exploit your strengths - Ferrari might need 'other' personnel/management etc Vettel admits Ferrari can learn lessons from their rivals after being beaten by both Mercedes and Red Bull. "There are a couple of differences that are standing out about yesterday and today, things we can learn from the others," he added. "If they finished ahead of us by half a minute, they clearly did some things better than us."
Blame Seb all you want. Three of the races we mainly lose was down to the pit wall and other instances were the entire pit wall was completely stupid. 1st was China were they misread safety allowing Bottas to get ahead. 2nd was not allowing Seb though earlier on Kimi causing the issues. Then in Monza were they didn't rein Seb ego putting him in danger of being pass Ham. I chiefly blame Ferrari cause they could of advice Seb to pass in a later part plus as the gap show in Q they didn't have enough pace to dictate the race those would of prevented the race to the title to be less of pessure to Seb to perform perfectly. Seb is much to blame, but I believe Arrivabene management of the team is the one to truly blame and should be hold accountable for all the f ups they which is countless at this point of loss of points.
I believe as someone said they should go all basket in Seb and just get Kimi good enough tactics. I understand that Ferrari do this, but it's a complete absolute dump of what the Ferrari pitwall is doing. I rather have the old Schumacher no.1-no.2 driver do it for the win style where No.1 ges ahead all the time which was so success and not this piece of crap of a style they are doing cause it's not been working for a lot of races. Media will have outrage but as long as it is legal who cares? Ferrari go back to Schumacher style please.
Just as I thought. Don't think they ran yellow soft tires during the weekend. Same thing happened in Monza where they lost (no running on a "race" tire at practice sessions). A good chunk of the race is spent on the yellow soft tires, and a team like Ferrari does 0 practice runs on them. The team just don't learn from their mistakes. Even if Ferrari somehow wins the championship this year (close to 0% chance), it will just be down to pure luck. I fear 2019 won't be any more different if changes aren't made in how things run.
How about firing Perez and keeping Ocon - https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/138764/force-india-bans-drivers-from-racing-each-other Force India Formula 1 team-mates Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon will again be banned from racing each other following their Singapore Grand Prix contact. They had previously been ordered not to battle in 2017 following a string of incidents. In Singapore the pair touched on the exit of Turn 3 on the first lap when Ocon tried to go around the outside, and Perez moved over and put Ocon into the wall. Team principal Otmar Szafnauer insists Perez could have left more room. Szafnauer had reminded both drivers before the Belgian GP - where they both started in the top four and the revamped team was restarting on zero points - of the importance of not coming into contact with other. "I didn't remind them here, maybe I should have done,' he told Autosport. "But they know it now, and again they're not going to race anymore if they can't do it. "There wasn't any room, Checo [Perez] should have given him room, and Checo had plenty of room.
Ferrari and.Vetel are not grabbing enough pole positions. This is a huge disadvantage. In contrast, Mercedes and Hami hav outshined our team time and again. I fear it seems that this season has slipped out of Ferrari’s grasp. Fortunately, Ferrari’s road cars are miles ahead of Mercedes’.(After owning two of Mercedes top of the line cars, I have no desire to own another. Plus they seem to be getting uglier too) Perhaps Ferrari should freshen up the driver line-up, and not just by letting go of Kimi. Maybe in a year let go of Seb. Obviously Seb and Ferrari haven’t been able to produce a winning package, Weve given that combination enough time.
Unfortunately Ferrari road cars are getting uglier too. F12 vs. 812 Superfast, FF vs. GTC Lusso. 458 vs. 488. But I digress, this is the F1 section.
You are right and you are wrong. In this race, race strategy in quali and in the race hurt Vettel. But Hamilton just outdrove Vettel, plain and simple. Vettel did one thing RIGHT for once... he did the opening lap perfectly. Then the race strategy of putting him behind Force India screwed his race.
I have no idea why Haas keeps this guy... especially when there is someone like Ocon just sitting out there waiting for a ride https://www.planetf1.com/news/grosjean-nears-race-ban-after-latest-penalty/
Vettel is done! Ferrari is pinning future hope on LeClerc when 1/3rd the problem is the team strategy and 1/3rd the problem is the car. Ferrari won't win until Merc gets tired of winning and quits F1 again.
