We haven't a clue what programme anyone is running yet. Wouldn't surprise me to see them back 5-6 in quali, if not a bit higher if the Red Bull keeps breaking or Sainz finds another wall to cuddle.

But this being a low downforce track has something to do with it I think. Spain might be bad for them again. Rough track and high downforce.

it doesn't stop at all...it's done because they don't want to interfere with other sessions.

 

Man these cars are SO heavy at the back...the pendulum effect is terrible.

WTF with Red Bull? That's not helping Verstappen at all.

 

I'd expect them to be near the top 4. They clearly sorted many of their issues.

Ferrari, not impressive given the updates. Red Bull, technical issues again. The door is open for Mercedes

The track is garbage. Narrow and half baked. It's how all Miami tracks have been since CART and IMSA have held street races there. Not a surprise for me.

 

I do take a somewhat perverse pleasure in seeing Mercedes suffer. But, I think it would be even more glorious for Ferrari to beat Mercedes and Red Bull while they are all competitive.

 

Red Bull used to be faultless before.

But these issues are not design faults, but preparation faults

 

Ferrari doesn't suffer the woes the 2 others have encountered, but Sainz is becoming the weakest link.

 

Indeed. Sainz needs to re-set himself. We know he is very capable, and these mistakes are beginning to be as worrying as they are puzzling.

 

Watched the crash. What's with the marshal frantically waving a green flag with a crashed car right in front of him? Colourblind?

I believe RB and Ferrari underperformed as a team today, making MB look better than they really are. Their car is still bouncing on the straight. Expect RB and Ferrari to resume normal programming tomorrow and MB will be 3rd team.

 

It worries me that this track may be too much like the Indycar Vegas track --- built for the "spectacle", but not for safety.
