Seeing how "easily" he did it, makes me wonder if RedBull really is hiding even more speed in that car with Verstappen at the wheel.
I honestly don't think that Honda PU has a Spicy mode like MercedesAMGF1's PU....but it has remained to be seen.
Indeed. Let’s say RB19 is a dominant car. Maybe they will win 23 gps this year which would put this car in a different category..
Also 2 Alpines in the points this time: a first this season. It looks like Laurent Rossi's pre-race rant about his "diletante" drivers has paid off ! Both Ocon and Gasly got a rocket up their backside today.
Anyone think maybe they didn't get Charles' car set up properly after the Saturday shunt? But neither Ferrari had much for this race. The race pace is so far off quali, I suspect they turn the mill way down in fear of reliability issues. Need to watch the replay on ESPN. The Nashville ABC station kept interrupting the race with a "weather alert" to tell people it's raining.
Would like to see laps times across the entire race. Didn't Hulkenberg have fast lap for a good part of the middle of the race, but not really go anywhere (finished 15th)? Supposedly the med tires turned out to be not the best choice to start on. IF Perez had started on hards (maybe getting beaten to the 1st turn, but who cares he'd have easily passed Alonso or Sainz as soon as DRS was enabled) would have been more of a fair fight between him and Max. But Max was clearly on fire today so might not have made any difference to the finishing order. Great to see Alonso out there having fun. Ferrari... oh man. Chuck is most certainly not having any fun. Lewis puts in another solid performance. Crazy track. Looking forward to the non-street courses.
oh it's absolutely a dominant car. Single lap pace it does have competition but it's clearly a sunday car. With engine parity between the teams +- a few hp, it's just very well balanced with very efficient aero. The 2014-15-16 Mercedes should've won all races. The only reason they didn't was for some braking issues in a couple of races and the Merc's clattering into each other every now and then. I think Monaco will be the weak track for Red Bull.
Well, he didn't say that in his interview! He has a "Steiner tantrum", and blamed the drivers for being too lay-back.
Ted's notebook post-race. It seems Rossi's outlook on Alpines performance in Miami "racked them over the coals." (i.e. gave them an a$$ chewing)
It was fun talking about Leclerc versus Sainz for awhile, but I'm starting to think it's best to lay off both of the drivers completely. Any heckling is just salt in an open wound at this point. The car is bad and Ferrari should feel bad.
The proof that that Ferrari can't handle tires is that at the start, Carlos was driving well, keeping with alonso, passing people, etc, and Charles lookes like an old lady, pass mid race and positions inverted, sainz had no more grip and start going backwards, Charles saved some tyre and was moving forwards....and teh amazing was, while Charles couldn't passa aHaas, Max just steamed past everyone, i mean, if you look a t the final diference, the Red Bull is not that impressive ( i mean the f2004 could give a lap to the rest) but the ease with wich they overtake is just unbelievable, it's just like a videogame! Heck, this seson is gonna be so crappy!
