finally a GP I can watch live
so effectively no practice at all this weekend for LeClerc? straight in sprint qualy/sprint race/race qualy/race.
"we brought the full package to Miami because the parts are inter-related and need to work together" then why give Oscar half? Zak has a 1990's Williams mentality to his team
I expect he will be bang on pace in race quality. His progress before that will be very interesting to follow.
Yes, very costly for Leclerc and the team. He's just not a well rounded driver. I like him, but it's the truth. We all judged him based off his performance against Vettel in 19'. What we didn't know was that it wasn't Lelcerc was so good in 19' and 20', as it was that Vettel had fallen off a cliff, and just about anybody could've beaten him in equal cars at that point. He had some Ferrari rookie luck - that's it. Since then, he drives like Perez at times. He's really a number 2 driver, sorry to say.
Yes, Leclerc becomes a massive disappointment, still making silly mistakes after all these years. He does a fastest lap one day, and bins the car the next !
What I don't understand are the rabid Leclerc fans that insist he's the next Schumi, and have trashed Sainz. They are the most toxic fans out there. It's like, the stats tell the story. 21', he was outscored by Sainz. 22'. he was good in the first half of the season, then when Sainz sorted his issues they were both on equal pace. Last year Sainz would've outscored Leclerc if not for Qatar and Vegas. Not only that, Sainz has been the one to win races both times Red Bull slipped, and he's at the top of the team sheets today as we speak. Honestly, if Ferrari traded Leclerc for Hamilton that would've been more understandable. His off track relationship with management is clearly the reason he still has his seat.
+1 Ferrari are firing the wrong driver as I stated weeks ago. Perplexing. Carlos is an excellent F1 driver. They do not need LH at all.
I mean, they should've at least waited until the season was going to judge the performance. They look like fools letting Sainz go, while giving a guy that's only one 5 races in 5 1/2 seasons with the team another 3 year contract with a 2 option. WTF.
Sainz literally spun in last Quali. Stats say that Leclerc is the faster driver compared to Sainz, cut off your bs. You are the toxic one
Wouldn't surprise me if Hamilton does better - at all. Yeah, Ham is doing so good against Russel right now, but he's not 'up on the wheel' as they say. He's going through the motions at Mercedes, and doesn't care to give them his best, as he knows a better car awaits him at Ferrari. Just last year he wiped the floor with Russel, and it can happen to Leclerc if he drives over his head. Alonso has proven an older driver can come become young again in a good enough car.
Leclerc crashed TWICE at Miami last year, and already provoked a Red Flag after a spin during FP1 this year. What about that then ?? When will he learn anything ?
Sainz vs Leclerc at Ferrari this is race performance only, not qualy or points standings not much between them expectations become reality. Chuck was the next big thing. Sainz was dependable #2. hasn't really panned out that way Image Unavailable, Please Login
Does this factor in not starting and not finishing due to failures? Those are super important variables, especially during the '22 season when Leclerc's car quit on him several times from first.
no, it includes DNFs, so the "head to head" category is mostly useless here's the link. it's NASCAR centric but does include F1 and Indy https://www.racing-reference.info/compare-drivers/
There are really only two such incidents. Spain, where Max was probably going to catch up to him, so we'll never know. Leclerc was absolutely going to lose in Baku, as he still had to pit from the lead. Sainz has had as many mechanical failures as Leclerc. Last year he actually had two freak accidents screw him out of valuable points. But, that's the thing. Leclerc should be smashing Sainz into the ground if he's the next big thing. He's not. Instead, he's pretty much an equal. That speaks to how Leclerc would do against Max in a title battle.
