I don't have too much of a problem with a team dominating, but seeing the same guy win race after race and WDC after WDC is boring in my book. Case in point: Prost vs Lauda and Prost vs Senna was epic stuff while both were dominating the series in their McLarens. Or in the eighties we had the great team battles with Jones vs Reutemann at Williams, Pironi vs Laffite at Ligier and Jabouille vs Arnoux at Renault. There I didn't mind the (temporary) dominance of any of those teams.

If RB continues to dominate in 2012 but Webber is the title winner, that'd be actually fun to watch. Seeing Vettel getting his 3rd in a row, would be boring.

That said, I wouldn't be too much surprised if 2012 is a repeat of 2011. In every way.

Yes I'm pretty much singing the same tune, Vettel try as you might it is hard to dislike the lad.

Sorry Ian, but personally, I don't like seeing the same guy winning to much.

    Fair enough.

I do also agree with Andreas - Some of those "teammate" battles he referenced were pretty damn good! [Even with team orders back then )

    Cheers,
    Ian

Test driver likely, but his racing career is over. He sealed his fate with this season.

Hamilton endangered the lives of racers and almost killed two racers today. The penalty was justified. He should have been black flagged and his super license suspended.

Agreed. Talk about a driver that has reinvented himself. The weight of France upon his shoulders has torpedoed many a talent, but he pulled himself back from the abyss.

I spoke at length with Thomas Mutsch who drove with Grosjean in the Matech Ford GT and he said that RG was bloody quick. Thomas ain't no slouch himself.

    Give me a break!

It was a slow section of the course, Paul and the others had plenty of time to react (and avoid) and there were clear sight lines.

The rule is clear, impeding another driver's progress is punishable by a drive-through penalty. That's what he did, that's what he got.

"Almost killed two racers" is WAY over the top. This same incident happened frequently at the Total 24 Hours at Spa and there were no penalties and it happens every day in Club racing...

My theory is it's the entire "down under" thing... you know the Coriolis effect... toilets flush the opposite way and all that...

When he starts a race in the northern hemisphere,... he just naturally goes backwards.

    +1

Should he get Quickish Nicks ride, I think the problem he'll have is beating young Vitaly - I'm impressed with the lad, and I suspect RG may struggle (Again......)

    +1 Ignore works ;)

    Cheers,

    :D LOL.

IIRC, over the years, he's actually made a few good starts..... I'm now wondering if they were Southern hemisphere starts? :)

Yeah, but I don't remember Brabham, Hulme, McLaren and Amon having that problem! :D

(And remember, ALL those Brazilians are from south of the equator as well!)

As for the imminent Seinfeld departure, dare I say there were more than a few of us who thought Hulkers was the obvious candidate. Romain or Nico ? Not a difficult decision.

I've never understood why Webber makes so bad starts so often. If he could capitalize his starts, he would definitely be breathing down Vettel's neck in the WDC standings now.

    Ha, that's a good one.

Anyway, typical Hungary bore-fest. Let's get this summer break over with and get on to the next one...AKA a great track. Congrats to FA for scoring the most points of anyone in July in the 3rd best car and for 5 podiums in 6 races. Fantastic.

Mercedes looks so pathetic. Both cars (MS's in particular) were DOGS today and absurdly twitchy. Both drivers made awesome starts but the car sucks, they can't hold their places. That and it goes through tires like a fat kid and a can of Pringles. Then, of course, Schumacher's car breaks yet again this year. Ugh. Not seeing much future in that team.

What a fantastic race. Vettel held his own in the end, the Mclarens are just the fastest in this kind of weather. I'm wondering if Red Bull have already started focussing on the 2012 car though and only bringing out minor updates at this point.

Button drove a fantastic race and a well deserved win in his 200th GP.

Despite his spin Massa drove a fantastic race, as did Alonso finishing in 3rd.

Hamilton messing up makes my day (;)), BBC quickly sending their infantry to Mclaren to ask whose call it was to come in for inters :D.

Not much to say about the Merc duo, with the exception that their first corner antics where fantastic, but on lap 3 MSC started going backwards. Rosberg did the same later on in the race and finished outside the points I believe.

Heidfelts' explosion looked awesome, been a while since we saw a proper engine fire! I'm wondering if it was the KERS that exploded. I think the car heated up so quickly because of the exhaust location (potentially heating up that KERS system if they're close to each other?).
