And his left, and behind him, and...Beautiful women on the track, and with lovely smiles, apparently being enjoyed by fans and drivers alike, and the world did not end. Hmm. Maybe Liberty can run with than idea in future F1 races. Lady luck smiled on the Scuderia today. On to Silverstone, or whatever the next race that the Pirelli/MB tire fix is not in! ;)

Was Vettel on a harder compound? Many drivers were blistering today on the softer compound. but anyway he should have pitted

    Bad day for Pirelli. ;)
    Harsh track for everyone.
Mercedes "upgrades": Fastest until they stop. ;)

A bit of "tortoise and hare" by Ferrari.
I was a bit concerned that Vettel wasn't making up much ground on softs.
But it seems he was protecting his tires, while others burned theirs up.

And somebody please tell Sky Sports that race announcers aren't supposed to be fan boys.

This was a 4x WDC champion vs a 4x WDC champion in like cars that are both equally competitive (finally). One had a massive aero upgrade PLUS an spec 2.1 engine upgrade.....the other did not.

Nope, can't play that card. Vettel was on the exact same compound, but 11 laps older than eltons. Try again.

In fact he went backwards, on the newer tyres...then drove on faster engine modes, lol.

He requires an awful lot of massaging as soon as the stars aren't perfectly aligned , much more than any world champion I've ever seen. But because the Mercedes is always at front without competition, we rarely see anything of this. See any race when they where on the back foot a little (however much the fastest car can be on the backfoot, I guess), and he implodes. Nevermind that other teams/drivers are always on the backfoot, comparatively.

Bottas experienced a retirement owing to a loss of hydraulic pressure on lap 14.

Hamilton had to retire his car today after he lost fuel pressure on lap 63 - ending the longest point-scoring run in F1 history.

No, both on SOFTS--the hardest compound available. Vettel's were at least 10 laps older and he went to finish the race with these same tires while HAM had to pit again.

So apparently random failures may (hopefully ;-) be related either to vibrations from upgraded engine or from running hotter with reduced sidepod intakes of aero upgrade.

So Merc may need to turn down the performance to compensate.

Wonder if any PU or gearbox hardware was damaged (?)

The MB friendly Pirellis are coming back next week; interestingly neither Ferrari blistered today. Allegedly these Pirelli specials are going away after Silverstone but I’m sure Pirelli will throw MB some additional help during the season....

If it wasn't for the poor reliability, and alternating success of their two drivers, the cans would (will ?) be a real contender.

Did you noticed during the post race interviews that Lou Lou’s left eye was slightly swollen?? Did some of his engineers punched him for all his whining on the radio or from crying...

Very exciting race! Amazing results for the Scuderia!
