Well, if you can't beat them, just change the rules <8meaning, if our car is slower, let's make better tires for our car and screw the rest)..that is what i saw today, so again, Pirelli can keep equiping some bran new mercedes....hat's of to them, id cheating is alowed, than it's not cheating, under theses circunstances i would seriously consider if it's worth staying in f.1.
Grosjean should go NOW!! Whether they call Kubica or a try out out a few young drivers before settling on someone, they have nothing to lose & a lot to gain. Grosjean has reverted to his original form of crashing big & taking several others with him & total bonehead, unforced stupidity.
I think the criticism is fair. What did Seb come in early to “undercut” Bottas, which turned out to send him behind...did he have tire issues or was it just poor strategy? A 1-stopper was always in the cards on a low-abrasion circuit. Then, why did he pit during the VSC, ceding 3rd to Max (we’re hearinrg now he had an unspecified problem with a rear tire). He came out in mediums, so there wasn’t even a strategy to position him for a pass. To top it off, it was a slow pit stop. A team with a strong car has given away an awful lot of points in only 5 races. That’s not a winning formula for a championship. We an only hope they start acting like a front-running team and just go out to win. No cute stuff required
Hats off to Magnuson and LeClerk...they got the most out of their machines and pushed their teams up a notch. Hats off to Mercedes...they showed they don't cave under pressure...they have the best two drivers and the best team management. Hats off to Red Bull...they have the third best car and drivers and they made the most of it. As for the second best team...how long will it take Ferrari to become another Williams? We are in an era where F1 is no longer like the F1 of the golden years...and the same is true of Ferrari. The series will slowly degenerate into a spec tech video game with virtual reality drivers chosen from the Marvel Super Heroes.
Why are Ferrari fans suddenly demeaning F1 after 1 bad race ? The first few races everybody was excited as a kid in a candy store, I'm a Hamilton fan but you all have to stop throwing in the towel so quick. That Ferrari and Vettel is equal if not better on faster tracks this year than Mercedes. It's not over says Toto

Max hit Stroller on a restart, so I think that caused it more than normal lapping a blue flagged car.
We accept development as something that is fair we get beaten on. The biggest is changing tires cause two teams can't fix issues and one happens to be strong arm of F1 right now that is struggling in the pervious races!? Plus the one team which had good standing on said tyres with that change suddenly become uncomfortable on these while the one who use to struggle suddenly becomes lighting fast in that race? I mean cmon that is so stupid especially in the middle of the season. Tyres is the most important if you cannot work it the whole car is flat out non competitive. This is pure laugh they decided to do that screwed Ferrari the most.
Tires are important but no excuse this season, Mercedes lead the championship using the old tires, so they must have adjusted. Ferrari has to adjust the same way. Everybody is on the same tire. I don't see much press on Ferrari or Vettel complaining about tires because they know complaining does't win championships, making adjustments does.
and this is the second time they do it to Ferrari, 2013 anyone? Uncle sweater talks a lot, well he should have talked now, he shoul have punched the table and said no, we do not accept rules and tires to be changed into the season in order to favour mercedes...now is when he should have pulled the team back ......he just made a fool out of himself!
Really hoping my new Lusso doesn't turn up with Pirellis on each corner. Wouldn't surprise me if all new Mercs suddenly do. For the record; the Michelin P'Sport is a far better tyre.
Looking at this season and even last season... Ferrari remind me of a mediocre chess player that is unable to... or doesn’t even think... to play 10 moves ahead. Sure... I just took your knight but it ended up costing my rook, my bishop, and my queen. It’s like Ferrari just doesn’t see the bigger picture further down the road... how it will translate into the next 5 laps. Makes no sense. To not time the pit and stick him behind Mag made zero sense. You solve one proble but didn’t see the next. F1 is a high stakes chess game and they’re just not good at that part.
Couldn’t outgun the Mercs, Max looked good in quali and practice. Think the ‘Toro Rosso in your future’ chat hit home.
If Vettel's 2nd pit during the VSC had been normal he would have come out ahead of Max on better tires and things would have been almost perfect. The 3 secs lost cost him 3rd place.
The medium compound tire didn’t work well with the Ferrari car. When the safety car came out the team should have changed Seb’s car with the super softs. That’s my 2 cents. Bad tire strategy.
What’s the backstory of Mercedes and Pirelli collision? I know they had that special “test” a few seasons back which caused some uproar, but why would Pirelli favor Mercedes? If anything, i’d expect them to be pro Ferrari given shared Italian nationality. On a different note, I love how in the mid-race Sky interviews now, Christian Horner is asking Brundle for advice on strategy. Fun to hear the two bounce ideas off each other on the fly and unscripted.
