How willing are you to take bets now? Ferrari 1-2 after FP3. Does that mean a guaranteed championship victory? Does that mean Merc are suddenly rubbish? Or does it mean.... precisely nothing.

Bump. Red Bull steadily closing in as predicted. Miles faster here at Singapore than anyone. Ricci was a few seconds behind Vettel at Monza after starting almost last and Kimi couldn't get by him at Spa. Red Bull is now the second best car.

I'd be wary of judging a cars overall performance based on Singapore, as the high down-force nature of the track tends to suit certain cars a lot better than others.

    Case in point:

McLaren have just finished FP3 in Singapore in 4th & 5th place. Based on your Singapore theory, that would mean that the McLaren is now knocking on the door of Red Bull, Ferrari, and Mercedes for car performance.

The reality is, on most other tracks, McLaren would be nowhere near them.

In Monza, for unknown reasons, even to the team, the Ferrari car simply didn't work. By the same token, and probably just as unknown to the Red Bull team, their car worked better at Monza than was expected.

I'm not saying Red Bull haven't made great strides in performance, they obviously have, but I would be wary of declaring them to have the second best car in F1 now, as just about all of these cars are incredibly circuit sensitive.
