I hear it's raining there as we speak. Bye bye grip
I thought about that when I saw him pull over, minimum weight is a biatch! Go Pastor!!!!!!! (I get hungry whenever I say that because I love pastor taco's)
When McLaren said he had 1.3 liters taken out of the car in total I was thinking theres no way that .3 liters of fuel is enough for a F1 car to make it back.
And there goes the Merc's starting on the clean side of the grid! I understand the stewards taking pole away though. Rules are rules
+1 BTW, they haven't just taken away pole and moved him back a few spots - He starts from dead last! [I guess he'll start from the pitlane.] Cheers, Ian http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/99564
Also meant to say; "couldn't happen to a nicer bunch!" Apparently, Sam tried to argue force majeure - Didn't go down at all well! Cheers, Ian
A very stupid thing for Mclaren to TRY to argue. My word are they blind to the stewards, rules and common sense LOL! Evidently. I put them right up there with COTA and ticket sales lol!
Hope McLaren remember to put enough fuel in to allow for the extra distance Hamilton will have to travel in the race from the back of the grid!
One would think that one of the most successful F1 teams ever would stop trying underhanded tactics/lies and just say "Yes we fawked up" and accept the penalty for their error's. Although I respect McLaren for their history I imagine Bruce is haunting Ron with flying objects. True sportsmanship like morals and behavior is just a faded memory in F1 and that saddens me.
The reason is how do they know Hamilton had the right amount of fuel in any of his other qualifying runs? If you go out in Q1 or Q2 you go right to parc ferme but if you make it to Q3 you go there after Q3. Only seems fair that he can't be included in any of the qualifying sessions.
Sir Frank is abit whimsical as we all know and he could care less about the WDC as he is after the WCC yet his dedication to F1 even after his accident has always inspired me. Pastor has shown moments of brilliance so hopefully this is a sign of things to come for the team.
Hard turn of luck for Lewis. It's a stupid mistake, though... not cheating. The rule is cut and dry and there's no way McLaren would intentionally take a car that was likely to take pole anyway and try to run it below minimum weight. Harsh lesson for McLaren - they don't seem to be able to get out of their own way this year. They have one of the fastest car, maybe the fastest, but they have bungled, what, 3 pit stops for Lewis this year and 2 for Jenson - costing their drivers lots of positions and points. Now this? Martin Whitmarsh needs to seriously crack some skulls around that place. They are behaving like Ferrari in 2008.
Quite possibly it could have just been a matter of 1/10ths in the pit lane. The teams know down to fractions of a second of how much time they will need for that one last hot lap so 1-3 10ths could have meant that lost and miniscule but very important amount of fuel, especially when a driver is "hot footing it" around the circuit for pole. It is just racing and thats why we love it so much.
I do not think cheating was implied but if it was I missed it and that would be an extra burden on the teams shoulders, no cheating either imho just a racing error.
Too bad it carries an asterisk. Rule is clear. "Interpretation" is often not. Now that he's starting last does Lewis get to change his tires?
I'm going to assume for the fueling now they can program into their pump how much fuel to put into the car and they just put the wrong number into it.
I don't feel that for this, Hamilton clearly had an advantage with lower fuel. Maldonado was faster than Hamilton's other lap.
Ain't that the truth! I'd need to check the regs, but believe he can do whatever he wants. As I said, I suspect he'll start from the pit lane on fresh tires. What about JB (11th, now 10th)? I guess he's still free to do whatever he wants too as well. Cheers, Ian
That's the shame. Pastor earned the pole fair and square but it will always have a "story" associated with it. Are the wheels (literally last race) falling of the Macca jugernaught?
See question above. In the words of an old friend "looks like they could f up a wet dream" these days.
Ooh, I do hope so! Maybe Pat Fry was a little more important than was known. Ron is gonna be apoplectic - *Awesome!* [Anyone know if he's there btw? I don't think I've seen his smiling (sic) face so far.....] As I said, couldn't happen to a more worthy bunch...... Cheers, Ian
