Hello Speedy!
Verstappen not breaking under yellow - Seb did, otherwise he would have been faster. Wonder what the stewards will say...
Visual Flag and yellow light. He will get a penalty if he did not lift. Binotto is moving this forward from what I hear. More to follow....potentially
Disappointing. I don’t think SF should bother with a protest but the stewards should look at it as a safety issue.
Rules is rules....... and imagine the carnage if one of them had smashed into bottles, just sitting where an under steering car would come thru. Elton and max both set faster lap times, so both need penalties
As you probably know, tifosi aren’t particularly welcome here these days unless we express undying love for Elton, so many of us decided to limit our comments in case we offend the Elton fans by expressing joy at our performances. We discuss things in private instead, that way don’t have to listen to all the ******** that gets thrown around about him
Cheater and punk. Safety for Bottas should matter!! https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/146798/defiant-verstappen-admits-he-didnt-lift Mexican Grand Prix pole-winner Max Verstappen has admitted he did not back off for Valtteri Bottas's crashed Mercedes in qualifying, but he is not currently under an FIA investigation. Verstappen was already on provisional pole position after the initial runs in Q3 when Bottas shunted heavily at the final corner on his final lap at the end of the session. That prompted a single yellow flag to be waved at the marshal post on the outside of the entry to the final corner, which Verstappen encountered while on an even faster lap. He completed the lap with a new fastest final sector that was 0.001s quicker than on his first run, and said afterwards: "I was aware that Valtteri crashed." When asked if he backed off, Verstappen said: "It didn't really look like it did it? No."
I've just read the Max has admitted to not slowing down. He also is NOT currently under investigation by FIA.
Why does he do this type of stuff? He already had pole locked up (I’m certain the team told him), but he always has to push the envelope. When Charles shoved him off in Japan, it just felt like a case of “what goes around comes around”. Mac is obviously talented but his hubris gets in the way of him optimizing his skills. Even if he isn’t penalized, Charles and Seb will get him by Turn 1.
