Some of us do, we're just gentlemanly enough to refrain from plastering his address and personal details into threads as a debating tactic. :)

While he listed his website in his profile, he hasn't advertised his services on the forum, or directly disclosed his personal details on the forum. Before you get argumentative again, William, yes I realize his address is listed on his website. You do not have the latitude to post it on the forum as a debate tactic and I think ringing the FOC about him was a nefarious move. I'd be very surprised if they confirmed the membership of someone based on an address, since doing so to you would be a violation of the 1998 Data Protection Act. As a friend of his, I happen to know Sid's FOC membership number.

I have deleted the errant posts.

Sid, while he did indeed overstep the mark of behavior expected of a gentleman, we cannot offer vague notions of face to face meetings as a repercussion. I believe the matter is resolved.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

No problem Andrew, let's hope he learns his lesson. He used to be quite a sensible chap with opinions you could respect, but I'm not so sure anymore

An apology is surely in order though

Thoughts from Joe Saward post race in Monza - https://joesaward.wordpress.com/2017/09/05/notebook-from-the-road/

The primary topic of coversation was Honda. We will know in a few hours what the Honda board has decided to do. The choice was to quit Formula 1, or to do a deal to move to Scuderia Toro Rosso in 2018 and (perhaps) Red Bull Racing in 2019. This will give the Japanese time to get things up to speed – if they can – while giving Red Bull smaller bills to pay. Perhaps, at the end of it all, it will also give Red Bull Racing the manufacturer it has so long been chasing. Having said that, there are quite a few folk in F1 who see Red Bull sliding quietly out of the sport after 2020, perhaps leaving some branding behind for a few years when selling their teams, to make the purchase price less dramatic, as happened when Red Bull split with Sauber back in 2001. If McLaren gets Renault engines, as is planned, Fernando Alonso will stay. Sergio Perez will move to Renault and, probably, Pascal Wehrlein will join Esteban Ocon at Force India, as Charles Leclerc will be getting his Sauber seat, thanks to Ferrari offering a deal for the youngster. Things could develop differently if Force India is sold, at which point it will depend on who the buyer is…

Ferrari has plenty of money and has just renewed its sponsorship with Philip Morris International (the owner of Marlboro), despite the fact that tobacco advertising is banned in most countries. The last deal agreed was a three-year one that runs until the end of 2018. This one will probably be a three-year deal until the end of 2021.The team is no longer called Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro but PMI still benefits from the historical value of the relationship, plus VIP hospitality and some use of the Ferrari cars in Marlboro promotions.

F1 continues to flutter its wings around the world, aiming for more and more of Liberty Media’s celebrated “destination cities”. Buenos Aires, New York, Copenhagen and Miami are all in the spotlight while there is now also talk of a street race in China. It is expected that Shanghai and Singapore will soon be announced to have new contracts for their races, but Liberty believes that as the car culture grows in China, so interest in F1 will follow. Things will be helped by the fact that the Chinese government is encouraging its entrepreneurs to invest more at home, as the economy has slowed because they are buying the world. It is worthy noting that the Chinese car company, which has done a great job with Volvo, may have some interesting ideas with Lotus, a company famous for its lightweight cars – and its F1 teams. Who knows? Perhaps we will see yet another Lotus revival in F1 in the years ahead.

Elsewhere Monaco is going to be an easier place to work in 2018 as there is a $30 million project to create a new pitlane complex, the suggestion is that the new pit buildings will have an extra storey, which will give the teams more room to work. The paddock area, down on the quayside will remain, but this is also being upgraded in the next few years as part of a big project to make the Port Hercules district a nicer place to visit. This will include a new car museum, which will be underground at Tabac Corner.

Agree...I'm not certain if the issues for Merc have been more related to tire heating issues or lwb in the handling circuits. I do believe that Austria and Hungary were legitimately Ferrari-advantaged circuits as the constant directional changes would seem to favor an swb car (and for that reason, I expect Malaysia will be more of a Ferrari track). Singapore has slow corners, true, but not the series of directional changes that we saw at other tracks. Wolf (not certain of his reason) proclaimed that "...Our car was very strong through the corners, every type of corner and that is encouraging". If he is being factual, that could be problematic for the balance of the season.

Still not certain what to expect at Singapore....it could see be a scenario where all three teams are equally matched, as you say.

Not in that context, no, it was meant in that you are trying to get myself, and Bas, to provide information we have already told everyone is not going to be forthcoming as there could be legal issues if we did, and that by keeping on asking, it was a humourous attempt to deflect people from keeping on about it. Neither of us would be prepared to confirm in writing what we know about certain events, so there is no point anyone getting annoyed about it.

In the context, it states about the assumption that everyone believes what the British press have stated, made up, put together from limited resources, rather than certain facts to which some others are a party, that's all. Don't you feel the same when, if your friends birthday is next week, and they have no idea about a surprise party or gift, they frantically start naming every possibility for the day, while you and others in the know keep quiet and enjoy their anxiety a little?. A personal attack would be to flat out state a bad opinion of someone directly, like calling someone a 'whatever'. I didn't, and wouldn't, do that to anyone. enjoy your evening

Ham used 2nd gear, in Singapore as well by the way. Seems to be the better choice in rainy conditions.

Why did'nt someone tell Kimi this....:D

He actually admitted in some article that if he did'nt have that phenomenal start, things would have been different i.e. he would have made it turn 1.

The bannings happened on different days.

william hasn't posted since the 5th of Sept. Most likely because he doxxed another user?

Bas was banned the other day because of his posts in the Singapore Race thread. As explained in this post https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/2017-formula-1-singapore-airlines-singapore-grand-prix-race-spoilers.560538/page-10#post-145584591

These strict rules have been around since 2015. The El Wayne sticky about the subject even mentions they would eventually relax the rules but this hasn't happened.

Yep, William decided to personally attack me in the most vile manner, and wouldn't accept he was out of order. I actually asked the mods to see if he would apologise properly, and if so, that his ban be rescinded, it he hasn't, and I really don't expect him too. He was very very out of order.

I think bas and Pete had a ding dong over the lil Maxine/Seb/Kimi incident, and unfortunately it went a bit too far, and as speedy says, the 'el wayne' principals were applied it seems, and the one month sledgehammer got applied (had that one myself- makes you very very dizzy!)
