All this whining and crying is misdirected, team orders are a reality. It should be directed at the people running the team for continually being sub-par when compared to the top three teams. If they rephrased the radio transmission this embarrassment could have been avoided.

Smedley could have given the information in another way, like "Is there a problem? You are slowing Alonzo down and he is in danger from Vettel" Just something different than what was said. Smedley and Massa should be fired for making it obvious. If they want to screw the team then they should have done it on track by refusing to obey the orders of their employers.

Yes, apparently if we don't like Lewis it is because we are racist, funny how his fans are talking about rules now, where were they when he wasn't going to have the proper amount of fuel in his tank for an FIA sample? Oh right, then rules are open to interpretation. The myopic nature of some is amazing, but then again, just read the comments to stories on planetf1.com and you get the same thing. Mclaren can do no wrong and Ferrari is evil.

    Prostitution?
Ok first of all it is a TEAM is F1 the only Sport in the world where Teams are not supposed to work as teams? They get the data between drivers, they get the same car. Same management it is a team with one same purpose.

Also I am not old, and I got few of the good F1. But who would not want to see characters like Nuvolari or Clark back. Like Enzo in the pitwall that has the balls to tell his three race cars to go through the finish line in the same time for a 1-2-3 finish?

Someone remember the good old Cart days, where team-mates helped each other with the clean air. And the one that had better chance to win the championship got helped by his team mate, even by slowing down other cars. (Except Tracy but eh).

Improved appearances? Teamwork is not good? It is a team and more over is the one with more tradition in F1. I just hate to see bubble wrapped whining about how hard their life as F1 pilot is because the team gives a wing to the other driver than me. Boohoo.

You think the Ironman days are over? That John Wayne style is gone? Man I prefer John Wayne that those sparkly vampires now a days (yes I am comparing John Wayne with old F1 drivers and the sparkly vampires to the new ones). And I was born in the 80s!

So YES I want more CHARACTER out of the sport. And YES working as a team so that a Ferrari driver wins the WDC and WCC is what I want to see. Look at the points difference and consistency Hamilton has. It was now or never. If it was the last race of the season its a no-brainer. Well in some ways Ferrari though, and I agree, that Alonso needed all the points he can get starting from now.

The Scuderia has made some questionable hirings and movements in its history. Deal with it! Massa is not the driver I'd like to see in the Scuderia. But in 2008 I suffered the defeat with him. This year, Alonso has more points.

People are complaining because its Ferrari everyone likes to complain about Ferrari. We fans are used to it. I am just amazed such "fans" in this FerrariChat forum. I was expecting more support, guess that perhaps I am in the wrong place after all.

The "whining and crying" is misdirected? So it's OK to cheat if that's what it takes to win the WDC?

What other forms of cheating are ok? Active aero? Using the better tires and faking the green stripe on them?

Just wondering what methods of cheating are OK and which ones are not OK.

Wait a minute... who says it's cheating? They're teammates. They're supposed to help one another. It happens all the time. One guy slows down another team's car or forces him into an unusual strategy. Or pushes them hard for when they know they have a problem for no purpose than they want the car to die. Is that cheating?

If Massa were behind Alonso and Massa was faster but didn't pass Alonso for the good of the team, is that cheating? We've seen that before with Schumacher. So, did Michael cheat to get those championships?

You want these guys to fight it out? OK, get rid of the idiotic engine and gearbox rules, the stupid tire restrictions, and the even more ridiculous testing ban. You ask them to "fight it out" when if they have to preserve the engine and gearboxes for the next race. Why? They're teammates.

This problem is caused by gerry mandering of the FIA. The sooner these rules are thrown away, the sooner we will get to real racing again and not a glorified go-kart race.

Get rid of this stupid made up fabricated rule. That's what this sorry episode showed. The only thing Ferrari did wrong is make it obvious. McLaren does it much better.

I agree - bring on some CHARACTER not 'character'.

The absurd 'appearances' you describe are the antithesis of Character.

Fast fwd those sorry old men calculating some BS outcome 'cause they know better and you get the current PC BS dressed up in 3rd class make up.

If you got the balls, honor, pride - Race.

Unlike the poser FAbs who starts gesticulating and begging for a handout each time he has to make a pass.

It isn't Massa's lack of points but FA's incompetence and lack of points that prompts Ferrari to treat him like an invalid.

Cheap corruption and depravity isn't Character - it is Prostitution.

It degrades the Sport and all those partaking in the charade.

But hey, you're in great company - those in favor of 3rd class theatrical BS on fchat are the usual characterless culprits comprised
of Yes Men and Lackeys, Mosley Jugend, portly weaklings and obese model citizens without an iota of integrity and pride.

Without the BS this weekend he would have 24p or so more than Massa.
    That's nothing.

The problem is NOT that Alonso has more points. The problem is that Alonso
doesn't have enough points because he's been driving and acting like a 3rd klass poptart
losing points for himself, Massa and F.

In retrospect McL was correct not be bamboozled by FA.

Take it easy on F-gullibloons. F isn't God just like the church isn't God.
Sometimes the church must cut down on the corruption.

    Kr@fty,

I can post when I wish to.

Technical solutions devised by corrupt buffoons, eg. Dave Mathhias
    resolve nothing.

That said, fchat is interesting for some documentary reasons now.
While I cannot promise you the protagonist role, you and
your delightful Queen's Anglitch certainly feature !!

We've even suggested briefly that you may be an unconscious marinetti

At the time of watching the race, I was pretty angry at Ferrari for making Massa pull over. Now that some time has passed, I think I have taken a different view. I still do not agree with make Massa move over; anytime the results are manipulated, its not good for the sport or the viewers. However, had this been the other way around, I wonder how angry I would have been.

I like Massa and I REALLY dislike Alonso which probably is why the move bothered me so much. In my opinion, the pass should have been made on track because Alonso was faster or not made at all. I think a lot of people that are calling for everyone and their brothers' heads need to calm down. This is far from the first time team orders have manipulated the race and its far from the last time it wil happen either. No one has to like the what happened, but it's part of the sport and it happened.

I would fully support Massa if he packed up and went home (especially given the timing of the potential win), but let's be honest...there's nothing out of the ordinary with what happened. I truly hope this lights a fire under Massa's a** and he picks up his game in the coming races. I am going to be rooting more for Massa now, but what's done is done. We really should move on and reduce the defcon level.

Well, now we see why it's so hard to get consensus in government. :p

Nothing like a calm, reasonable discussion.
(And this is nothing like ....)

Meanwhile, should we start the pool for on which lap Massa will be asked to crash in Singapore? ;)
