People saying Lewis be amazing because he won three championships need to remember exactly how he won the first one, I seem to recall he had some standing with Toyota wasn't it?

If MB sits Hammy and Nicole...they had better win. Otherwise they will have egg on their face.

And such a move would alienate both drivers making driving for another team much more of a reality.

I think l remember when Hammy jumped to MB. He went from a top team to an also ran in MB. Turned out to e a brilliant move on his part. So MB may have some loyalty to Hammy.

Can see why Hammy might feel Nicole is getting preferential treatment when they put him on harder tires than Nicole at the end of the race. And then it seems like most of the mech failures have been on Hammy's car.

Looks to me like Hammy has a case that MB should be giving him better treatment than Nicole.

I suspect there is no love lost between the two drivers and the lack of respect by both drivers towards MB makes for lots of unhappy campers. Like l said, couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of guys. ;)

I suspect that the management at Mercedes (not only in the F1 team) must be aghast watching this scenario. Having invested millions, and built the best car in the field, they see their drivers tearing the team apart when they should cooperate and fully capitalise on their superiority.

While I do not want to continue the Elton bashing that this thread has become (noting that it is deserved in many ways ... apparently he trashed hospitality room: Motosport: Lewis Hamilton threw tantrum after missing pole position - Sport - NZ Herald News), Mercedes did hire the guy and everywhere Elton goes there is drama.

I guess Elton is part of the current generation that think everything is their entitlement and being a team player is for fathers, but it hardly makes it easy for his management.

Yes Elton is the better racer, but ever since he told Ron Dennis to "go swivel" I've struggled to have any respect for him as a person. Some times my respect has grown only for it to be taken down a notch or two again. Pity.

With this race, Nicole drove the better race until the last lap, and then Nicole drove like a person on his very first club race when the red mist descends ... I'd be so embarrassed that I'd be making full and very public apologies and paying for the damage to my and Elton's car!

    Really ?

I seem to remember him being suspiciously left out on track about a lap too long in the rain ;)

Toooooooooooooooooooooo much anti-driver automation cr@p on Mercs for me to ever be a fan and their older cars are mechanically noisy (always wondered why?).

Sorry but I'm an automotive enthusiast which means I, not the car, drive my cars thanks. Don't even like parking sensors; I don't need to be dumbed down by my car!

    Fugly.

When l was in the market MB did not have a stick in any car l was interested in, nor did they have a dct.

I needed awd. Audi has the best in the business (Subaru stole theirs from Audi).

I have had more than a few BMWs. Just not worth driving 3.5 hours to Denver for service each way when we have an Audi dealer in the valley. The service has been great. When l call for an appointment they can always take the car the day l call. And just regular maintenance so far. So now we have two: S4 with mt and RS5 with dct and 450 hp na V8. Both are great in snow and we get lots of snow.

Audi does pretty well at Le Mans. :) 5th Gear had a track showdown between an RS4 and a C63 AMG. AUDI outperformed in every catagory except fuel mileage during the race. Audi got 5.5 mpg and MB got 7.3. They did stops at 100 mph. The first stop was even. Then it took the MB an extra car length to stop on each of the next 5 attempts.

    Lol, WTF?

If I recall you were one of those guys that killed Rosberg over not being aggressive enough (vanilla as you say), and now he makes an aggressive move and he's a super villain.

    You're trying too hard.

I am ok with aggressive driving but what he did in Austria was amateur league.

But more importantly Lewis simply is faster.

Depends on the weekend but Lewis is never more than .1 or .2 faster. On this track Rosberg is superior, nearly won the race despite starting with a gearbox penalty and has won here the past 2 years.

Rosberg is very fast, yes I would agree Lewis is faster overall but it's close. Would you call what Lewis did in Spain amateur league? It was much worse, took out both cars on the first lap.

Also, when are you going to stop pretending that you are not a superfan of Hamilton?

Not even close. Lauda himself said otherwise. Hamilton lost the car like a rookie.

Anyway, so when are you going to admit you are a LH superfan?

I am not. Big Alonso, Vettel and Max fan.

But when it comes to Hami vs Nico then I am on the champ's side. And it would be fun if he got a 4th title as it would make him the most successful British driver of all times.
