Yeah working well till the race day. I have already given up on us. I'm happy to see Bottas or Max winning this year. And Vettell just spun.. Again.
Horner said they "missed their window" on their fast laps so yeah it sounds like they're sand bagging.
I know max had a scruffy S1 on his fastest lap. Gasly don't know what happened but pressure building I'm sure. Ricciardo is a proven driver but I've no idea what's going on....
Night time is the right time . . . The squadra looked good! I hope they can maintain that pace for qualifying.
Per Sky Gasly is having trouble getting the hang of the Red Bull. It's more edgy than the TR was and it's causing him issues with putting in fast laps. Ricciardo I have no idea. Car definitely seems to have some pace.
Thanks. Annoying F1 TV pro shuts off after a session. Miss the pre-shows from Sky. Gasly normally excels on this track and he's not making a dent in butter at the moment.
@Bas Jaski This also might be a reason for Max vs Gasly. They ran like this at Oz(race) and in FP1 Bahrain. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Are you suggesting that Pierre is the guinea pig , , , , while Max gets the proven stuff? Who woulda thunk it . . . . Or was that piece simply broken and no one noticed?
Team Mercedes F1 ready for take off. A closer look to the carriage shows the multiple sandbags to get rid of tomrrow! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think this whole “sandbagging” thing is getting silly. I mean Merc doing it in pre season practice, Red Bull doing it in P 1 & 2 here, blah blah blah. But Scuderia Ferrari doing it for the whole weekend in Australia ? That really was taking the piss !
We'll see in quail... if Merc dominates again you know they will totally demoralize the Scuderia and screw up Seb;s head. It's the game they play and Hammy loves it.
From what I've seen in practice so far, it looks to me that Ferrari quite simply went the wrong way with setup in Australia, almost certainly due to not understanding the car fully yet. At none of the practice sessions did Ferrari look good in Australia, car was sluggish and not at all like they looked like in pre-season testing. Here in Bahrain the whole friday they looked great. Whether it was just a setup issue, not understanding the car or the car not suiting the track, or a combination of those things...I don't know. But if they figured it out the reason for panic is over and we can focus on the championship. Now if Mercedes ''suddenly'' snatches pole by 3+ tenths again tomorrow, well...Mercedes is indeed sandbagging champion 5 years in a row.
I don’t trust Merc don’t misunderstand me. I however believe them when they say they tested two set ups. The one on their first week didn’t work. The one on the second did the trick.
