I'm not so convinced looking at the on board footage, if he lifted it was a very short lift, surely not 4 tenths worth like Horner claimed. But I doubt FIA has the balls to hand out a grid penalty.

The rules are still so stupid and seem to vary on a race by race basis with stuff like this.

One weekend showing that you've lifted is enough, the next the stewards are saying that even though you lifted, it wasn't enough by their standards, and in another weekend it's because you went faster there than before (even if your previous lap was done at a snails pace).

Why not make a hard and fast rule?

Alonso still screwing things up for Ferrari. :D

Carlos got hosed by the rush-to-red-flag.
It's one thing if you're behind the accident, but if you're ahead and you lose the lap because they jumped on the red button, ...

I'd kinda like to see what kind of lap times they could do in a DBS. :p

Sainz will have his work cut out for him in the race. Needs to try and nab two spots at the start, settle into six or seventh, and the team should put him on a more risky strategy, imho. They should try and aim Sainz for 4th.

Where did McLaren find pace? Look quicker than the factory Mercedes. Maybe that'll humble the latter.

Oh, who am I kidding? Mercedes can't be humbled.

was that first or second run? Either way the Ferrari is a MONSTER in slow corners. Monaco will be a doddle.

I want to see two races tomorrow.
A ‘boring’ flag to flag win by the poll sitter.
A hard charge from Sainz. I think he has the pace.

Add to that, Alonso, Bottas and KMag working through the field.
No race disruptions from the Whacky Races crew at the back.

    Thanks, first run then.

    I don't see how he could've beaten Leclerc's 2nd lap though.

Lance stroll given a 3 place grid penalty for crashing into Latifi.

    He'll still start last.

In the history of dumb, meaningless penalties, this has to be up there.

If a driver already starts last, make him start from the pitlane or have the penalty move to the next race or something. Utter clowns at the FIA as per usual.

Imagine if Alonso had the luck of Hamilton by landing in the right car at the right time.... he would have been the one breaking all of Michael's records.
