Leclerc showing once again why he is the best qualifier on the grid. Max made those mistakes because of the pressure of having to push to match Charles. Just a reminder to those worshipping Verstappen, it is always easy when you have a dominant car, but when things get tight he also makes mistakes.
Another impressive downgrade for Aston Martin. Honestly, Alonso points out another reason why I don't like Sprint weekends. It restricts the races in which teams can properly release a new update. They just don't have the track time to gather the data. Alonso is one of the most popular drivers, so most will not like seeing him go out in Q1 due to the Sprint format.
You mean catastrophe this weekend. The narrative is always about Stroll, but now even Alonso is in trouble.
Yeah, wow a legitimate 4 way fight with Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes and Red Bull. Charles' last sector wasn't great but still enough for pole. Should be a good race.
If Stroll could barely get any points with the 2nd best car, how the hell is he going to score points with the 2nd worst car? Aston Martin are in shambles.
Everybody struggled today, not enough FP to properly exploit their cars and find a proper set up. Instead, some were luckier than others. And Leclerc was the luckiest of all. Tomorrow everyone will use up their cars just for bragging rights...it will be a fake race created by Liberty Media and F1...at the cost of have the best possible race on Sunday.
Well, that finally answered the question: "Just how FAR outside the line does Max have to get before they call him on it?" Seems they only call Max on limits when get gets sideways outside the limits. Max was going outside the white line all day. But, limits notwithstanding, the RB still has pace. Max will be in the lead by lap 10. If he's got the pace to finish 30 seconds ahead of everyone else, he might still win ... .... depending on how many limits violations they call him on.
Lando needs to just drive and stop talking. Norris: F1 US GP front row unexpected but I should have grabbed pole
