Check out the Monaco podium with Leclerc on top step in front of the royal family. I noticed the flag crumpled up on the top step at Leclerc’s feet. These guys have a lot of emotions going on at the time. I watch for the racing, not the flag protocol (unless it’s yellow, blue, black or red during the race).
I'm sure the Sky team stroked out over their LuLu getting his "historic" win. But I'm not watching it. I've long suspected the men behind the curtain decide when one team/driver has had "enough dominance for a while" and see to it that it changes, sometimes VERY rapidly. I don't think they'll allow LuLu to fade away until he gets one more WDC to exceed Schui and of course bring glory back to the Brits. Don't be surprised if Ferrari starts winning more next year, then the year after that. Mountains of money to be made on LuLu hysteria/worship, so he can't be a 6th place driver....
Agreed! There don't appear to be any obvious guidelines for what is unacceptable as there is for the American flag. 18 pages and they don't mention not letting it touch the ground! https://www.flaginstitute.org/pdfs/Flying_Flags_in_the_United_Kingdom.pdf https://www.defense.gov/News/Feature-Stories/story/Article/1892936/dos-and-donts-for-displaying-old-glory/ The flag should not be on display outdoors during bad weather. The flag should not be used for advertising purposes, or embroidered on cushions, handkerchiefs, napkins or boxes. The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding or drapery. It should never be displayed upside down unless trying to convey a sign of distress or great danger. The flag should never touch anything beneath it; this includes water, merchandise and even the floor.
Wow.. ten pages in just a few days? LOL. What a fun race to watch, one of the best in a while. I have a handful of fave drivers, with no loyalty to any, really, and I'm so glad. If Max doesn't win, I'd like to see Lando do so.. and he almost did. Max had a NUTS session after getting new tires (too bad they weren't mediums - same for Lando). Personal feeling aside, I'm really happy to see Hamilton win, since it means to many things for him. I can't IMAGINE the emotion he had going on. WOW what a race. Is it weird that I'm glad Russel wasn't on podium? I don't know exactly why, but I just can't root for that guy. I think he and Stroll are the only two that I really don't care for. Again, don't know why.. not that it matters anyway LOL. Congrats to Hamilton for everything that came with that win (and showing that we gold dudes can still get down LOL).
ahhh, now i get why he was late to the press conference choosing those ridic red balloons he had over his track suit!!!!
What did he say on the radio with 10 laps left, something like “shut up and let me work”? That he did. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ahhhh.... a conspiracy theorist. I'm not immune to the things that just don't make sense, nor am I immune to the idea that F1 is just too big... with too much money at stake not to have the thumb on the scale at times... sometimes for a long time. I'm not sure how it all happens. I don't know if multiple teams are told, or one team is just advantaged, but if I found tomorrow things were even a little rigged or a lot... I would not be surprised in the least.
This is the way Humanity works, especially when huge dollars and egos are at stake. It's also how wars work; there are always discussions about how and when to carve up the prize after the war is finished.
I was away these last few days, and unable to follow the British GP. Last I was told, Russell was on Pole. Looking at the result, I am totally dumbfounded that Hamilton won. I will have to catch up and analyse what happened ! Hard to believe . That goes completely against my prediction that Hamilton would never win a GP after his defeat at Abu Dhabi in .
You must somehow find highlights or a replay and watch this superb race. Yes LH won but it was a super race no matter. Do watch.
IMO, we could do away with flags and national anthems all together at sporting events. They make me cringe !
It was a proper race where the top 5 all had a genuine chance to win. I'd forget about highlights, watch the whole thing.
The Checo Perez rumour mill continues to roll: Horner makes Tsunoda admission as Perez axe rumours swirl: Christian Horner has not ruled out the possibility of Yuki Tsunoda moving up to the main Red Bull team in the future, as speculation about the Red Bull and RB driver line-ups intensifies. The Japanese driver is having a strong season with RB, outperforming his experienced teammate Daniel Ricciardo. While the Australian has been consistently linked with rejoining Red Bull, potentially replacing the underperforming Sergio Perez, Tsunoda has not been mentioned as frequently, despite his better performances. With pressure mounting on the Mexican driver, RB reserve Liam Lawson has also been suggested as an option. The New Zealander performed well during a five-race stint last season when he filled in for the injured Ricciardo. However, unlike his colleagues, Tsunoda has rarely been considered for a promotion to become Max Verstappen's teammate. “You can never rule anything out," Horner replied when asked if the 24-year-old could step up to the main team in the future. "We have options for multiple years on him because we believe he's a talent." "He’s [Yuki Tsunoda] a Red Bull Racing driver. He's on a Red Bull Racing contract," "You never know. Maybe he'll get a test one day. You never know." "I think Yuki's doing a good job," "He got another point, he's stringing weekends together, he's doing a good job.” "I think he's benefited from having Daniel [Ricciardo] alongside him. He'll openly admit that he's learned from Daniel, in terms of having an experienced driver and how they interact with the team and the engineers.” "Yuki's not a rookie anymore. He's got quite a lot of experience now under his belt, and you can see he's putting that to good use - and in difficult conditions like today, I thought he drove a very good race[in Silverstone]."
Logically it makes sense, but I wonder if Yuki’s potty mouth is holding him back. Being on the first team means that he’ll get more attention, and I’m not sure RB wants their brand associated with in-car messages that are primarily expletives
