Binotto was a problem and Vasseur was/is not the solution. I’m not one of those who believed he was, although I thought he’d at least be an improvement,

Plus what we witness every season is the Scuderia dropping back during the season. While other teams are improving Ferrari is somehow not improving. I had the impression early into this season Vasseur was more on top of things. But doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

 

I really think its a solid move. Even if only 2 years. Its the best seat left.

 

He needs to do it immediately. Who manages him?

I think Toto is very clever. They wanted him to move on hence the structure of the contract. Im certain his other partners were ready to end the tenure of LH with the money offer and the early out option. Good business decision. They have plenty of titles with LH and the ROI of late was a bit weak possibly.

 

Has anyone noticed that as soon as Adrian Newey made his announcement the confidence around RB started to dissipate? Their upgrades are lacking. If Ferrari weren’t so incompetent they’d be in the fight also.

 

Going to Ferrari is an ego thing, having a framed red racing suit in the trophy room probably more important at this point in his career than fighting for an 8th WDC title. The intangibles Ferrari offers are second to none.

 

Reconsider sainz

 

I'll give you he had a mechanical in Canada, but he SUCKED these last two weeks. He was stuck behind Stroll for an eternity, like in Miami last year when he couldn't get pass the Haas. Then he was 5 seconds slower than Sainz on slicks as it began to rain, which is why the team brought him in. And don't forget, knocked out in Canada Q2, mistakes in Austria, slow in Q2 yesterday.

Sainz had his problems too, but you don't seem him floundering around outside the damn points two weeks in a row.

I thought he might be the next champion at Ferrari myself some time ago, but I think it's been clear for some time that he's like Riccardo.
