The Mc would still be in front of both Ferrari (at least at the start), so the manufacturer's title would still be out of reach.
Mercedes and Red Bull actually looking stronger than McLaren and Ferrari this weekend. We'll see how the race goes, but the WCC is over unless something happens to one of the McLarens tomorrow. Honestly, McLaren deserve the WCC more than Ferrari anyways, as the latter simply had too many DNF's. The double DNF at Montreal and then the Silverstone mess cost Ferrari the WCC.
So Mercedes and Red Bull have mini come backs, and Ferrari has another fall back. I don't see Ferrari making sustainable improvments, and I don't see you-know-who bringing anything to the party in 2025. So far this second half of the season, I think Russell is the best driver and Norris/Leclerc/Sainz are scrapping to be number two. But Leclerc has been with Ferrari a long time and hasn't delivered by driving above the car. Norris, for me, is McLaren's version of Leclerc. Williams will turn Sainz into another Hulkenberg. And the way the sport is organized (the rules and restrictions), they will be paying the big bucks to the hype spinners. Which driver do you think Liberty will marry to Taylor Swift...at the Las Vegas race in 2025? Will the Sprint races be morphed into autmotive versions of the Tyson-Paul fight...Nigel Mansel vs Gasly or Alain Prost vs Lance Stroll?
fia ruining the remains of the "sport" with this outrageous penalty on Max; I guess they really want him gone. georgie poo whining in the sprint and in Q, the memo: bwitish to the fore, regardless" https://racingnews365.com/verstappen-criticises-fia-it-makes-no-sense-for-them-to-take-this-away
I've just seen the full video with Russell's engineer and Russell talking. Russell definitely not on a push lap but his engineer says "Max and Alonso up ahead, it would be nice to get ahead of Alonso..." Alonso and Max are cruising. Russell comes flying in to pass Max in a corner for no particular reason. Then complains on the radio If you look at Max's onboard there really isn't much he could've done, especially knowing Russell was on a charge lap anyways. Championship is done and dusted sso it's all irrelevant but F me are the FIA trying hard to prove the bias allegations. The inconsistency of it all is maddening.
Is it irrelevant when peoples lives are at stake, i would not want someone ploughing into me at 160mph. So, Justified but was surprised only one place grid penalty. Faster car A was catching Slower car B and regardless of who was doing what, the slower driver dicking around on the racing line has to ensure his car is in a position that does not interupt or is a danger to "others" ...and himself. Just my opinion.
Slow racing line, in the rules. Not much to complain about. Try the FIA to fix the rules. If it was LH being bumped back then world would call for fireworks and free champagne. Rules are rules. We ask they be applied no matter who is affected.
George and Lewis should wed. They are becoming one. Still we cry should be on the helmets. So everyone on recharge Laps and George wants to go 160. He should be banned for reckless driving.and a black eye.
Gotta say, I think that’s a garbage penalty. Usually this stuff is dealt with by a slap of the wrists and no milk & cookies at bed time, especially when the consequences to quali were so irrelevant. Can’t wait for RPM to critic this one…!
George played a game yesterday. He could've been sensible and still passed both with ease but he wanted to push because he knew the posibility of an investigation at the very least. He got what he wanted. To me, this was the equivalent of rolling around a field in soccer in the hope your opponent gets a yellow/red card. Can't wait for sensibility and consistency to come to F1, one day. I'd make steward decisions public. My punishment (to russell) for this would be "no penalty, stop being a chancing **** and get on with your job of racing you bell. Here's your dunce hat, wear it till you put your helmet on tomorrow, adios."
