I gave up a dozen years ago on the sports "news" websites. I got the feeling they just like hearing themselves talk (ESPN specifically on that one). Now I only watch the qualifying and racing myself and make up my own opinion on it and not whatever he said/she said. It's much more enjoyable at least to me.

No problem: we have a new Swiss boss.

And without the intention of derailing the thread, I'd say that the guy who has wasted more points lately is our German driver. Ooops, here comes again.

Merc will continue to win WDC/WCC as long as F1 keeps allowing them to come up with whatever engine rules they want. When they stop allowing them, teams like RBR and SF will actually win them again.

Unless Vettel or Verstappen can start doing unexpected things into T1 it's a rinse and repeat for Mercedes.

I am thoroughly looking forward to watching Leclerc vs Max in race one of the season. Love that they’re lined up so close.

As a fan of both ....can’t wait to see them mix it up, hopefully without any carnage.

One thing that heard about Ferrari that was really concerning, IF true. It was on an Autosport vid, they were saying or implying Ferrari’s car has limited capability for development... Anyone see this? How would that even be possible...?

Yes, that BBC report that @DF1 posted earlier states the same thing-->limited development.

I read that as being a possibility but not definitive. Hopefully that will not be the case because they obviously have a lot of need for development. Also, does anyone have more info on this "4 wheel steering" thing referenced earlier re the Mercedes and whether it is even legal?

As of today I honestly don't buy whatever ******** they spew. They're all liars. I'll stick to honest opinions from experts such as Tiff Needell that are not getting any financial or any other gain whatsoever from their opinions, and my own trusted sources...

I was talking to a friend who raced minis in the mini miglia for decades, and is pretty clued up. He said Mercedes tested a modification of last years car for the first week and the first day of week 2. For the following test days they used a new car. Seems the new car is much faster than a modification of last years car. Comments?

Ah, the usual suspects, the same thing EVERY YEAR. I’m quitting F1, I’m not watching it anymore, blah blah blah. Yet they’ll be here all season long watching and complaining. ☕️

Vettel is on row 2 and it's the end of the world.

You can tell none of them were around for the pre-Schumacher years.

Excuse me... we qualified FARTHER BEHIND Merc this year than one year ago.

I think a bit of disappointment and whining is justified.

I wished Kubica luck but deep inside I always felt he should not have taken the job with Williams. He was in a stronger position coming off his "comeback tests" than he is now. He should have chased an Indy Car ride and gone racing while his confidence was high. Now a rookie is beating him and that just plain should not be...a the car and the team sucks and there's nothing he can do about it. He is a gentleman and he is showing loyalty...but if he is smart, give it one more race and then declare the car totally uncompetitive and dump the team before the team dumps him. He may have to settle for never driving F1 again...but I'll bet he'd be quite happy in the Indy Car series.

Actually they were only a tenth worse. In 2018 they got 2nd only because Bottas crashed.

Yet, yes, I'm disappointed. I didn't buy the Toto BS, but I expected to be only 2 or 3 tenths behind.

I agree, but his mishaps in P and Q (hitting two walls, going offroad, etc) show he might not be ready to be fully competitive, and those issues have nothing to do with the car or team. Hopefully he finds his form though, I'd love to see him do well.

Nope, we are exactly the same gap to Mercedes this year as we were last year 7/10.
