I would think that most of the Tifosi prefer the constructors' title, because when Ferrari wins a WCC, the title stays with the Scuderia. But I maybe be wrong on that account. A WDC follows the driver who may or may not go to another team later. Also, one may consider perhaps that a WCC goes to the best team, and a WDC to the best driver, not necessarily in the best car? The fact is that 2 drivers can collect WCC points for their team, but the WDC is an individual championship..
fyi for those in the states Sunday on ESPN2 F1: on the grid --> 7:30am - 8:05am (central) Race --> 8:05am - 10am
When you look at it that way, yes. The reality is though, a constructor's title without a driver's title seems hollow to the general public and the media. Like it or loathe it, that's just the way it is.
Not sure what stats you're referring to, but do they include when Prost was driving pukka Mclarens while Senna was in the trundling Toleman or the explosive Loti? When head to head in the same car, same team, the wins are 14 to 11 (and the pole strike a staggering 26 to 4) in Senna's favor Both great drivers - you cannot diminish the achievement of one of them without knocking the other...
F1 recognizes the WDC is more important than the WCC. Prior to drivers selecting their own number, the WDC was awarded No. 1, his teammate No.2. the year following. If the WCC was of a higher order, Massa’s and Raikkonen’s 2009 Fezzas would have been adorned with the old 1/2.
The way I look at it... In the past (previous seasons) In order for Ferrari to win a race it had to be some short of a luck. Now... Ferrari has the strongest car on the grid and Mercedes needs to get lucky in order to win a race.
Not too bad from the 'little ballerina' ,he even mentioned it was a bit like ballet out there. Vettel humbled by Kimi,who continues to do a very solid job for Scuderia,with Leclerc going off the boil a bit he might still get another contract for 2019. Alonso with his 'private conversations' really should get out of F1 asap .
+1 Alonso was never a good test driver. Today he couldn’t even give a feedback and tell his crew what tire to change to. So pathetic.
The Red Bull being kind to it's tyres, low (rear) downforce wings, enormous power deficit....none of this works in the fight to against Ferrari and Mercedes. Max certainly didn't suddenly lose his ability to drive in the rain... All the more reason that F1 needs a proper re-hash and let the driver make the difference instead of fancy engine modes and such
