Red Bull team to Tsunoda this Gp : 1/ Max impeding ( yuki shut up !) 2/ Perez destroying his race ( Yuki shut up again !)
It was genius to see how these two worked together to maintain their position. Not so much for the Mercedes boys. Rather than have both cars score points, Lewis pushed George a little too hard. Reminded me of the race where Alonso told the team to let Lance know he has his team mates back and was not going to pressure him, allowing both cars to score.
Disagree. LH had pace over George. He had every right to pressure him and the team let them race and it was clean. George being George. LH smarter and stayed out of trouble and kept his car on track. Lessons for George. Self inflicted.
Monaco they where on the back foot, it was that insane sector 3 that saved their weekend. Spa they had to lift through Eau Rouge the whole race. Don't forget that since other races many teams have made signficant upgrades.
True, but with 2 laps to go on a track like that, back off and bring it home. Sure, George was too anxious, but Lewis could have spared a podium.
The most recent directives didn’t go into place until just this past weekend’s race. It’s likely RB will adjust their suspension to deal with the new TDs but the question of how much it’ll ultimately impact the car remains to be seen. For me it’s not good for the sport to have a team car so dominate, and while I understand the point of different constructors is to have teams develop an edge, there’s a point where it becomes ridiculous and I think we’ve seen that. Hopefully the cars will be more even next season and it’ll come down to driver and team skill more than it has lately.
George got his elbows out a bit, although clipping the wall wasn’t an effect of that imo since there was no pass opportunities in that turn anyhow. I also believe George’s pushing so hard to get by the Mac adversely effected his tire wear much more than Lewis just following along and that also created imbalance for George to deal with and that could be why he got loose and brushed the barrier. Still, it all made for the most thrilling race of the year which was a joy to see.
I've gotten the impression that Carlos is easier on hit tires than Charles is, which is one of the reasons why he was able to hold on and win the race. There are other drivers who are known for managing their tires better; I think Sergio Perez has had that reputation thru the years. And if appears that Lewis is easier on this tires than George.
Something is weird with Red Bull, Last year RB18 ( same concept compared with RB19) was pretty competitive in Singapore..
The tech-press wisdom is the lack of ride height optimization for the circuit and the 90degree corners are not so perfect for the chassis. If true a dry Japan race will not be so exciting.
https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/mercedes-deny-f1-singapore-podium-absence-after-hamiltons-inter-team-celebrations/10522812/ Why TV cameras didn't show Mercedes celebrating Hamilton's Singapore F1 podium Mercedes has explained why it appeared as though no one from the Formula 1 team was waiting at the 2023 Singapore Grand Prix podium to congratulate Lewis Hamilton. With team-mate George Russell crashing out on the final lap at Marina Bay last weekend, chasing team-mate Hamilton claimed the final spot on the podium after the duo's aggressive late switch to medium tyres in a bid to challenge for victory. But as Hamilton took to the podium alongside race winner Carlos Sainz and runner-up Lando Norris, the TV cameras picked out the celebrating Ferrari and McLaren crews but no one from Mercedes. Social media clips have also circulated featuring photographs of seven-time world champion Hamilton being greeted after the race by the rival mechanics rather than his own team. But Mercedes has clarified that “as many of the team as it was practical” had in fact made their way down to the podium ceremony for Hamilton, but the narrative of Ferrari ending Red Bull’s perfect win streak in 2023 meant that directors were focusing the TV feed elsewhere. Mercedes technical director James Allison said: “Of course, the team was there at the podium to celebrate with Lewis. “As many of the team as it was practical to get to the podium were there because we enjoy it. We love standing there and clapping and cheering for our driver.” Allison added that some personnel had been required to stay back to retrieve Russell’s crashed W14. Otherwise, the Mercedes crew had been present only to be lost among a “very significant number” of other teams’ representatives.
