FP1 starts in about 6 hours time at time of post.
Red Bull statement on double retirement in Bahrain: “Both cars suffered lack of fuel pressure. Correct amount of fuel in both cars, but a vacuum prevented the pumps from drawing fuel. We’ve taken the necessary steps to correct this issue and we expect no problems this weekend.”
RedBull missed that situation in testing with fuel system lol. They also never ran a full race sim from what is being told. Oh well. Its just ZERO points for the first race. Probably means nothing in the WDC they are so focused on lol
With these cars running hot, and if under multiple safety car laps, this will be an interesting race. Hope RBR did find a fix.
They will have to be more cautious with their PU ( Gasly ). 2 tenths less per lap could be decisive for us.
This track should help Mercedes a lot more...very very smooth, no bumps, so they can run their car a lot lower.
Maybe not, ha-ha. Autosport: Hamilton's comment is somewhat worrying given how smooth Jeddah is compared to Bahrain. 10:33 "There's a lot of bouncing," Hamilton reports to his team. Problem for them is that everyone else will also be running as low as their porpoising problem will allow.
Weird FP1 so far, looks like everyone but RB is struggling with the setup. Max faster on hard than everybody else on soft. I’m a bit worried, I hope they can fix the setup in FP2. Carlos had terrible bouncing in the second sector late in the session
