Season off to a great start! And the Scuderia is looking strong. :)
Max states his grip levels via the tires was less than he liked. Grip and tires. Thats his reasoning.
"Chuck".... as in Carlos? Then YES! I would be good for both Scuderia drivers to have success very early im the season.
Something is odd about those tires when our guys and Max state that they couldn’t get the tires working. Maybe it’s because of the regulation change. Another interesting point is that Checo uses a setup with less downforce compared to Max, maybe it’s less downforce -> less grip -> easier/faster to get tires in optimal temperature window. If that’s the case the Ferraris should be able to attack Perez when his higher deg kicks in
Respectfully disagree on both counts. Sainz is an excellent driver--and growing with every race-- but I give Charles a decisive edge. Checo may have his day here and there but over the course of a season Max will crush him. Max is the fastest driver in F1 and his team is behind him 100% I think that Ferrari and RBR have the best driver pairings. This is what Formula 1 is supposed to be, not one team dominating for 8 seasons. Game on!
I think I read that in order to combat the vapor-lock situation that took out both of their cars in Bahrain, the Red Bulls are going to have to carry more fuel than they would otherwise need, so their cars will be heavier for the race. And if it is a warm night and a safety-car situation happens (which is likely at a track like Jeddah), the Red Bulls may still be in trouble. I think that bodes well for Ferrari in the race.
Besides getting to root for my favorites (Ferrari, Haas, Alfa) don't you just love F1 when it's competitive? All the top 4 could win tomorrow, my money would be on Ferrari for the win, although of course Perez is usually a good manager of tires. The F1 and other press talking about HAM working his way through the field tomorrow...not counting on that. Just watching the cars through the S turns sections and hitting over 200mph on a street circuit is just amazing. Final thought, I guess Red Bull is doing better on top speed, so I'm looking for more action in the DRS zone into turn 1.
i bet hamster will work his way up to a top 6 finish. Red bull reliability is still questionable. Would love another Ferrari 1-2. Perez really annoyed me with his pole lap but good for him he deserves it.
Prediction: Perez will be third…at best…by the end of the first lap (barring the virtually inevitable safety car)
The other teams just need time. Merc has the engineers, so I think they will have things handled shortly.
I’d like to think so but I don’t think so at the same time… I mean for years Ferrari had the engineers and budget too and got nothing out of it, so whilst I expect Mercedes’ to improve, if the design of the car is fundamentally flawed then it’s going to be a uphill battle. If Russell kicks hamilton’s butt I expect Hamilton to retire this year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Mick's crash was horrendous, as predicted when ground effect drops the thing just flies off with no grip.Ever wondered why ground effect cars were previously banned?
Remember that Niki Lauda's family were industrialists who never wanted him to race. (I've heard that Niki basically cut off contact with his father because of his dad's disapproval.) Racers gonna race.
By the book, but in fairness, there wasn't much of any place to get out of the way in those corners. Even if he'd been warned about the approaching car, the only way to avoid might have been to go "unnecessarily slowly" to avoid entering those turns before being overtaken. Just not a good track. Monaco is still on the calendar because of history. But there's no reason to add new tracks with those issues.
Damn... I knew something bad would happen. That crash looked horrible. Glad to see that Mick is doing fan. Was expecting one of our boys to be there on the pole, but then results are decided on a RACE day. Still glad for P2,3. Anything can happen over this 2-hour course.
No question per William’s contention too. Let’s say they fix ‘it’ by Monaco, unless Hammy believes there’s a whiff of WDC in the air, maintaining his motivation at this stage of the game is going to be one radically inclined treadmill . He has the kid out to prove Merc made the best decision ever, ‘Charlos’ in the 2 quick Fezzas AND the Cans increasing their collective point leads in the interim. If there was ever a year to impress the non-beliebers, this is it.
Max and Checo were essentially equal coming into the final turn. Max a bit nervous after last year's qually? Can't say as I blame him, that track is insane.
