Sorry Bas, you cut the corner after lap one and it's a TEN second penalty ...... leniency for penalty is for first lap only

Max needs a faster accelerating car, then he can claim the corner but he didn't

Cheating is cutting the corner KNOWING you're going to get a penalty, put the other guy in dirty air to get a 5 second lead and win the race

To be fair LH has done it and didn't get a penalty. It's inconsistently applied but what isn't.

Hamilton has cut the corner on the 1st lap (Abu Dhabi and Mexico) and nothing happened to him.

Yes I know, the inconsistencies of the Stewards.

And not just once, but 2x that I can remember on the 1st lap.

    Nothing happened to him.

    Agree, inconsistencies in the stewards.

Defendas of the Australians that’s what the real problem is here. Max didn’t blatantly do anything other than get out of the way of an unwound wheel Australian.

Nope Oscar's corner max knew he lost it so strategically cloud the case for a chance with stewards but lost. Max deserved to loose choosing not to settle it on the track. I have no respect for that. He may be best driver on grid but no class.

OK, then he should have given the place back as he had lost the corner ... Max knew he was in the wrong unless he arrogantly expected Oscar to just give him the corner

I didnt really see it that way, though it was a slightly late decision alongside Piastri, but piastri ran to the normal track out with Max there Max should of shut the car off or pitted I guess. But dont worry Piastri won.

Thankfully, Leclerc keeps out qualifying LH44...............and out racing LH44. Great drive to third place for Charles.

Another exquisite drive from Charles. Forza Ferrari! Forza LeClerc! I think they’ve found a set up direction with this new floor. I wonder if the two Ferraris were approaching this race with different set up philosophies for each car.

Why on earth would anyone do that? You stay out as long as possible in clean air to try and gain more than a five second gap to cover any possible penalty. Given the stewards in inconsistent rulings in this issue it’s almost 50/50 odds. Especially the first confer of the first lap.

All the drivers on the grid would do the same. If you put aside your emotion you’ll see the logic too. It’s the smart play.

Yeah exactly. Max took the chance with Stewards, he's been penalized before for being in Piastri's situation so the maths was quite simple: Either get away with it or risk the penalty by not giving up the place.

It's always a bummer for some that Max is on the track.

BTW, Oscar said in the FIA post race drivers press conference he couldn't gain on Max on Mediums whilst trying to do so.

I wish they were all Maxes on track bar Oscar, would be a hell of a race

Oscar tells the truth unlike most of the rest of them

Max is not a god, some have just built him up to be one

You know that as soon as he saw the he lost the corner he changed to the outside and went wide. He knew what he was doing.
    Got penalized hence the "pouting".

Irrespective, gotta respect the guy for "outperforming" the car and doing everything to win.

Glad Ferrari got its first podium finish but expecting Lewis to finish higher than P7. Hopefully, he will be on the podium soon.

True. I thought that Max would give the position back to play it safe and not get a penalty; unfortunately, that did not happen. :(

Max latest drama queen quote lol:
'People can't handle the truth' - Verstappen refuses to explain penalty frustration

So we are too stupid to see you lost the corner with a poor start...........sure. Im glad he didnt elaborate and saved himself further embarassment.
