Ok, Please see attached video. I would love to add this mod to my car. I have seen it on othe F cars. Any ideas on how? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phJJnmpxoBg&feature=youtube_gdata_player Thanks
Don't need the flames thanks Yes I crave attention! I need it like a reality tv star... I have low self esteem to boot OR I track my car (sometimes it rains) and thought if it had a toggle switch for it, it might come in handy. Glad you went to the dark place first, you must be a blast at parties
I think it would be pretty cool, it doesn't have to be on all the time, and for a track day situation it makes pretty good sense. Good luck, when you finally get it installed take pictures!
Check the motor vehicle code before you wrap the car in Christmas lights. The laws can be pretty specific regarding what lights are displayed front/rear on your car. IIRC, flashing lights are reserved for hazards and turn signals, and there are of course laws about when you're allowed to use the former. If your car is a track car, then check the regs for the SCCA or whatever the governing body is. Your car is not a Formula 1 car.
I have been "bumped" more then a few times on the track. And both times it happened the guy always says "oh sorry, I was watching my line and didnt realize how hot/fast I was coming in". Just thought that might help Good point on checking track regs but who use's there blinkers/hazards on the track? Never on any track event ive been to
Better footage with one working on a Ferrari !! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15uOH0-QGAs Should not be difficult or expensive to do. There's lots of space behind the centre grill in the rear bumper. http://www.lifeline-fire.co.uk/motorsport/rainlight.asp
:15 seconds in to that video is wild, the sound is crazy. I'd be terrified if i was the pedestrian with the flashing lights and screaming Ferraris.
You have to use weatherproof materials even if it is inside of the diffusors. The best choice seems " http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Motorsport/Lighting_&_Accessories/Rain_Lights/Lifeline_LED_Rain_Light/1602/0/22562 " as it is msa approved. you can supply electricity either from brake lights or from fog lights. Fog lights are better i guess. But also you will need a led strobe modules. These products in this page may help you " http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/index.cgi?action=DispPage&Page2Disp=%2Ftail-brake-turn.html " . It says "LSC-100B Continuous Pulsing Strobe Module Continuous Pulsing Strobe module will cause LED lights bulb to flash 6x rapidly in 1 second. Use for LED warning/hazard lights. 1.25 Amp max load - Weatherproof. Mount using included double-sided adhesive.". But on the other hand depending on the country you live you may have trouble with the police !
