So, you think you are hollier than God? Who do you think you are?

It's a forum, for Christ's sake, not the last judgement!

You need to loosen up !!

I've had a look, but it isn't a moderation issue.

Strong opinions are a part of F1 and 4rePhill expressed them with civility in this instance. If you really don't want to read any more from him, I suggest the ignore feature as a solution.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I don't think he mentioned greater Holiness than God anywhere, you're reading too much into what he actually said.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

William, not sure why you think it was reasonable to 'report' 4rePhill's post. I think the point he made was valid. I think you are the one with thin skin mate....

I don't believe in God - Only Ferrari!

You can check the UK public census if you like - My religion is officially recorded as being: Tifosi!

(I kid you not! I can conclusively prove Ferrari exist - You cannot conclusively prove that God exists! [The writings in a book cannot be taken as definitive proof! - Otherwise you would have to agree that Harry Potter the young magician really exists because he was in a book!] That's a really discussion for https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/politics-religion-not-faint-heart/ , but as you asked! :) )

I'm the guy, asking the guy who thinks Piquet publicly insulting and ridiculing another driver's wife was acceptable, and in fact thought it was even funny (your words not Mine!), why he thinks it was acceptable and funny.

In My opinion, it lowers Piquet's esteem as a driver, it appears that to you though, it somehow raises his esteem. I'm just curious why that should be?

(You're still not answering the question BTW!)

The definition of a forum is:

    Forum
    ˈfɔːrəm/
    noun
noun: forum; plural noun: forums; plural noun: fora

    1. A meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged.

So far, I've expressed My ideas and views as to why I think Piquet's personal attack on Roseanne Mansell was out of order and lowers his standing as a great driver, but on asking a simple question, you don't appear to be very forthcoming on exchanging your ideas and views as to why you think it was acceptable and raises his standing as a great driver.

I'm not getting uptight about this, I'm simply trying to understand your method of thinking when it comes to a driver using personal insults about another drivers family in order to gain an advantage.

Trust Me on this: I'm looser than a Force India's wheel nut! :)

Hi Andrew, I can see I'm not going to find out why william feels that Piquet's insults and humiliation to Roseanne Mansell in order to gain an advantage were acceptable and funny, so in the interests of harmony on the F1 section, I'll let it go.

As I say, I remember reading Piquet's comments about her "back in the day", and was outraged by them! - From that day since, I have had no respect for him whatsoever as it was some of the lowest, dirtiest tactics I've ever seen in F1! (At least Senna and Schumacher kept their dirty tactics to the race track! [well, nearly always - Neither stooped so low as to insult another drivers family as I recall!] )

    With Regards,
Phill (The loose wheelnut! ;) )

Criticism, sarcasm, lampooning, caricature, mockery are by nature funny to those who start them and people who agree with them. There is no justification to it. It's just what it is. Laughing at the expense of someone is sometimes cruel.

I found it very funny when Piquet took the mickey of Roseanne at the time, and I still do.
It doesn't matter if she deserved that scorn or not, Nelson had a dig and got Mansell all flustered about it.
And yes, I found it perfectly acceptable.

I made it plain that I liked Piquet, and didn't like Mansell.
Many people didn't like Mansell; I found him embarassing to watch.
A good driver, but rather unsavoury out of the cockpit, and prone to put his foot in his mouth.

Unlike you, I am not in religion with Ferrari, and I do judge drivers by them being part of the Scuderia or not.

Piquet also made comments about other drivers which I found equally funny.

Ok, I agree with you, Piquet was a jerk by making such comments. But there is one thing you cannot argue against: the guy is no liar!!! :-D

Last one with Piquet looks a bit masculine, but then he never was picky.

Further to Piquet as a driver (and I agree that he was a no-class lowlife outside of the car), he won titles with Brabham when they were well known to be cheating big time. Running underweight regularly with various cheats, Bernie (Brabham owner) avoided any prosecution or sanction by bullying his way with his rising influence in FOCA. After Brabham was sold, Charlie Whiting was recruited from Brabham by the FIA for his knowledge of various cheats being used - using the logic that it takes a cheater to catch a cheater.

I never thought much of Piquet as a driver, nor as a honourable man. He doesn't deserve a top 10 ranking.

Obviously Nelson Jr took after his old man - no problem with cheating if he gained by it (deliberately crashing in Singapore in order to retain his place at Renault)

I must confess that if for nothing else,i started to like Nelson when i found out he used to screw Ron Dennis cars!!! He used toput superglue in the lock, leaving uncle Ron out of his mind,lolo...Ron never knew whodid it..one day he had a bright new mercedes and he hired a big black bodyguard to take care of the car.....without knowing it Nelson sneaked to the car an knealed near the drivers door with the glue...the guard saw him near the car and yealled.."what are you doing there?" Nelson thought the guy was going to beat the crap out of him,but he recognized the brabham driver and instead asked him for an autograph!!! He didn't realise what Piquet was doing...so,again he was able to put the glue in the lock for Ron's despair!!!

Yes, he was not a good driver really, 3 world titles won against people like Prost, Villeneuve, Arnoux, Rosberg, Lauda, Senna, Mansell, etc...

In regard to Nelson Jr, Nelson senior himself publicly trashed his son about the idiotic thing he had done at the Singaporean GP.
