    I would say to use double sided tape, which is pretty sturdy stuff and it wont' fall down. You could also use magnets if you plan to move them often.

    Excellent points. I'm not ready to start building yet, but this is sounding good. Another thought I had which makes your modular idea seem even better, would be to mount the "track" on small (1/2" - 1") standoffs, so it's not right *ON* the ceiling... Hmmmm, that might look cool!

    OMG!

    Just received the Ferrari 126CK Turbo from 1981. It is absolutely stunning in details.

    Have to post some pics of it and the 1982 car as well. Nice pair: Villeneuve and Pironi

    MOST excellent, Andreas... Love the looks of those cars. With my Exotos "done" and my 250SWB having arrived, I don't know what to do with myself now! Where do I go next?

    One part of me thinks I should just finish out the "Schumacher Era" cars, as I've already got an F399, F2003-GA, and F2004. Another part of me thinks I should start snagging up the more hard to find stuff like the ones you pictured above, or the 412T2 mentioned a few posts back.

    Decisions, decisions...

    For starters you should come out to my store. I have a few Schumacher cars right now. The Regular F2004, 999 points, 7X W.C. with figure and Leather base, and JUST RECIEVED TODAY - the F2005.

    Couple suggestions:
    - try collecting the Sauber-Ferrari F1 (see my earlier posts in this thread) 1/18
    - www.islandcollectibles.net has a few 1/18 resin kits, not easy to build, but very rare and unique cars with some nice detail

    I think I saw that 81 version for sale on Ebay. Did you buy it from Ebay (Italian seller)? I allready suspected it to be a different scale so I didn't bid. Nice model though.

    Let's hope Exoto will produce their promissed 126 C2...

    Yes, same place and dealer, so you know I paid big bucks.

    The difference in scale isn't really much noticable unless for the tires. If I ever come across a cheap model 1/18 that I could cannibalize for the rubber, that would make a big difference. Only the wheelbase is off by 5mm but if placed nicely it is less noticable.

    I once had a 1/16 Ferrari F2 from the fifties and that was grossly different. Everything was way too big in comparison.

    But all that is really neither here nor there. What I really, really want is a 1/18 Ferrari F1 from the mid to late eighties: Pencilrocket in front, snow plow rear wing in the back, fire spewing at every down shift Alboreto and Arnoux taming the 1,000 hp monster around Monte! I was there...what memories.
