Does anyone feel Rob should make a forum only accessible to proven owners to keep the riff-raff such as myself out? The pay forums were a nice idea but any lowlife with $50 can get in (check my status).
Money or ownership status has nothing to do with class, non-riff-raff or higher level attitude. After all take Allanlambo for example ... more money than I could poke a stick at. Saying that I belong to an Alfa Romeo OWNERS Club and would never belong to a Ferrari enthusiasts only club. Every Tom Dick and Harry thinks they are or wants to be a Ferrari enthusiast or supporter, and thus buy the required T-shirt, jumper, key ring, etc. That is not me ... thanks. Pete
I would go for an "owners only" forum. But only after I can find a scrap of a Ferrari frame and build a car around it and then convince everybody that it is a real Ferrari and not a replica. Would they let me in then?
Agreed. Some of the most valuable and knowledgeable members of Ferrarichat dont own Ferraris... Not only that, but I believe this website is about sharing the Ferrari passion with the whole community of enthusiasts...not just owners. This website is like a great big family, no need to lock some people out. Lastly, its very easy to fake ownership as we have seen a few times before
Sure....I'm pretty sure sure I have a couple scraps I sawed off 48801 in the basement if you want, so for the right price I would be happy to sell them to you with a document stating the vin number of the chassis they are from.....although in this case, since it is clearly documented that they are scraps removed from an otherwise fine car, you probably won't be able to pass it off as 48801 unless maybe you have proof that the rest of 48801 was destroyed and you have the last remaining scraps.
So how about an "invitation only" forum..... Awww Heck... Who needs it anyway??? We alread have the Committee.... If only Carbon would quit browsing for browsing for obese middle age women and answer his friggin phone
Yeah, the ol' "Black Card secret society" thing, I wondered about that, but figured someone would have rubbed it in by now.
