Got a few hours into the game and its pretty safe to say that I will be playing this for a loooooong time Here's a few shots I took while driving a couple of my cars. I changed my mind. The demo is pretty terrible in showcasing what's available in the game. Don't decide based on the demo alone. That's cool
Has anyone considered making another ferrarichat car club? I could make it but it won't be until Friday
Ahhh my sub just run out! I can't upload any more pics /off to fix that. I just noticed there are no rear-vision mirrors in the game! Probably to save on performance.
Agreed. I think the demo gives you a feel for the driving physics, and that's about it. The game is FAR deeper than what the demo presented. Still having a hard time with the "I finished the game in 10 hrs" comment...I can't possibly imagine how.
just a question. what settings is everyone playing on? i have everything off and manual trans. Difficulty on hard. I'm having a pretty hard time winning races on hard, but now i'm getting a little more used to the game. you just really have to out-brake the ai, and do slingshots on them. i love the game so far! first ferrari i bought was the 355 Challenge. A little dissapointed still at the car list. a lot of my favorite cars were left out like sti's, nsx's, the regular 355 berlinetta, some dodge's, etc. but still, pretty awesome game!
I'm using the same settings as you. On average it takes me about four restarts before I win the race. Two races to get familiar with the track and then two more to get first. I find it to be much like Forza 4 in that you can beat most of the cars pretty easily but the first place car always seems to jump way out ahead. Starting with Forza 3 I tried hard to discipline myself as a clean driver, always trying to stay on track and off opponent cars. I wanted that ability before racing others online. This game promotes the exact opposite with banging off cars and guardrails as a legitimate way of gaining an advantage. Going off track is encouraged and in some cases like the balloon race, necessary. Either way is loads of fun. I'll just have to make sure I remember what game I'm in
couldn't agree more! i hate when the 1st place car gets ahead! i love being a clean racer, but in this game you do have to ram into people which kinda sucks
Go ahead Some more pics. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It reminds me of the "Need for Speed" game on the Sega Genesis in the 90's, though significantly more realistic. Very fun and more engaging than I expected.
Going through the gears in the F50 GT while speeding on the highway with an Aventador, Zonda R, and CCXR is a blast! I am loving this online play, it is crazy fun driving at 75mph when you hear that split second sound wave as your buddy gets ready to do a high speed flyby.
I'll make it tonight. I hope you didnt let the f40 go under the sprinkler. I wouldn't want it to be "damaged"
WHen I read about the game development, I had heard they would have dynamic weather effects in addition to day/night cycle. Has anyone seen any of this?
It was confirmed by the developers early on that while there would be a day / night cycle, there wouldn't be any dynamic weather effects. Kind of makes you appreciate what TDU 2 tried to do with its weather which included lightning storms and wet roads I will say Horizon does a pretty nice job of changing the light, whether its from a setting sun or full moon which makes it nice for taking pictures. I saw an article from August that claimed it would be in the game. No big deal...more 'cherry on top' than the actual sundae. I think they've done a great job of making, basically, a "free roam" game into one that's engaging and challenging...but still enjoyable as a free-roamer. We've been treated to a lot of great racing games on the Xbox 360...from Forza, to Horizon and with F1 and (arguably) Ferrari Racing Legends in between, there is a great variety of games that fill different roles.
I gave multiplayer a go today. You can level up in private races which is good (free roam doesn't count). Everytime you level up in multi you get a spin the wheel for the chance to win either cash or cars, I missed out on the GTO by 1 spin point No photo mode in multiplayer is annoying. Some of the free roam challenges require 8 cars to do! Might be a mission to get them done! Free roam gets you no traffic but it helps with the speed traps
A couple shots I took awhile back. If Assassins Creed wasn't coming out Tuesday I'd probably try to find a used copy of FH. Let me know if anyone is still playing in a month or so. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Why does that matter? There are heaps of games I have played that are over in under 10hrs it doesn't make them a lesser game because I don't play them any more. I'll be getting AC3 as well
It was another attempt to show my dissatisfaction with the game, as well as being completely genuine in that if I do get it again I'll have someone to play with online.
