Forza is definitely off on the top end value of the 328GTB, they should do their homework before they go to print or get rid of their writer.
Everything Forza prints is a load of crap. They just repost their previous buyer's guide. I bet that one is the EXACT same as the previous 5!!!! Look at one from a few years ago and it will be the same, minus maybe a random change in prices. Forza is worthless as a mag....
The first line is:OVER ITS DECADE-LONG PRODUCTION RUN. I thought 328 was 1985 (86 model) through 1989?
I believe the decade long production was referring to the 308 and the evolution into the four year run of the 328.
Good write up. Front wheel bearings are not $1300 if purchased from a bearing supplier, more like $300.
Andy, from whom did you purchase the front bearings, is there a specific brand you got like SKF? maby a part number ?
There is an alternative manufactured by SNR: TGB10894S03 The SKF part number is: 441696M Superformance sell the SNR bearing but I found it at an even lower price from a UK bearing supplier. I would need to look through piles of invoices to get the suppliers name unfortunately but I can do that if a UK supplier is any use to you. They are used on Citroen CX. The advice in the article about the grease drying up is spot on. On mine one of the bearings had turned blue from overheating owing to dried up grease.
The more I drive my 328 the more I love it I went on my first night drive last night with the roof off and that sealed it , Temp was about 25 degs with a slight breeze it was unreal I was grinning from ear to ear the best thing I have ever bought its going to be tuff when I take it off the road for when I give it a birthday
If you actually read it, it says this "OVER ITS DECADE-LONG PRODUCTION RUN, the Ferrari 308" Which happens to be correct.
I haven't found a copy yet. I always love reading it, even the reprinted articles. I also love Brian's no-nonsense column as well. PDG sent from Io, innermost moon of Jupiter
actually a pretty good article by forza standards. crall adds immediate cred in my opinion. glad this is not just another mike Sheehan joke of a market pricing piece.
