Well, after purchasing the last 21 issues of Forza from the newsstand, I decided to pony up and finally subscribe. While at Barnes & Noble tonight purchasing #66, I also picked up a copy of Cavallino. I was impressed by the volume of information contained in the mag, but something about it just "wasn't for me."

    Forza it is...

I buy both mags. B & N usually has Cavallino but Forza is tougher to find. Maybe they sell out faster? I'm probably going to subscribe to Forza soon.

I think Cavallino is a much classier mag, better photos and more interesting articles, not to mention the current price listings for all models.

I do like that price section! The cover of Cavallino says it all, though - "The Journal of Ferrari History." I like history, and I love Ferrari, but for some reason, I tend to enjoy the articles that Forza prints more - the article in this month's copy about the 400 Superamerica in NYC is a perfect example - a historically important car in present day. THAT's what I like.

Gotta have both, one fills in voids the other leaves.

Cavallino also has two really good newsletters, one for us flat twelves, and another for eights.

Cavallino is much more authoritative while Forza is interesting but makes tons of factual errors in its articles.

Cavallino is like a fine meal with a good wine, Forza is fast food, good quality fast food but fast food all the same.

    Both are worthwhile.

I also read both; While Cavallino is so much slicker, it is very historically slanted while us gearhead have to turn to Forza for any dirty hands on mechanical stuff, and even then it is limited.

I wish Forza was even more mechanically and restoration oriented like its sister publication about Porsche, titled 'Excellence'. The Porsche guys are a larger community with more mechanically inclined folks I guess.

Cavallino would be almost perfect if they had long running series on restorations, kind of like Tom Yang does, but on historically significant cars.
